Mooy Retires

Mind the door doesn't hit you on the rse as you leave.

Think our best form was when Mooy and Hatate were at their best.

Mooy took a bit to get going, not a surprise considering he’d not been playing much before that. When he was up to speed, he was integral for us. He struggled after picking up his injury, so I think it’s harsh to suggest that the injury played a major part in his struggle to get form back considering he’s having to retire because of it.

An intelligent player, and would have been important for us if we could have got another season out of him.

Can't hate such a nice guy.

Save us a year of wages especially as he was unlikely to play for Rodgers as he makes forward passes.

Decent record too
7 goals, 11 assists in 1985 minutes

Kent
3 goals, 10 assists in 3670 minutes

Good luck to him, he had a fantastic purple patch with us, would have loved to have had him with us in his prime. As CT says though probably better he is away now given his injury problems. He leaves a champion and probably gave the best interviews ever in the history of Celtic 🍀

Don't get the OP at all.
Didn't cost a penny in transfers and was influencial during that period when we were really securing the title.

Very harsh. A hugely popular squad member, clearly. Didn't always play his best but then not always his fault. That derby match and his early days when cleary not fit but he quietly became a first pick with displays and goals to match. Rather him than Turnbull.

Good luck to him.

Imagine the howls if we'd signed him from St Mirren for £150k 9 years ago?

Was valued at £12m when at Huddersfield

Still valued at £3m - and we're getting nought back

What a stupid post

Why the need? He served our club well and had some great games. Man of the match as I recall a couple of time. Often the guy who broke the deadlock and was a steadying influence in the middle of the park. You could see players looked up to him.

Sure he took time to settle and he was brought back a bit too early after injury from what I could see. But that’s hardly negatives in his time with us.

Reputedly on >>£20kpw which is a health wage to free up. Let's face it he probably never had any re-sale value?

Indeed.

On the subject of freeing up wages, still a fair bit of deadwood we need to shift ideally, starting with our very own TREE Musketeers ... McCarthy, Soro and Ideguchi. We've had real value out of those DMs, eh? Honourable mention to Ajeti on that front as well.
