Transfer News

Or rather the lack of, is anybody else just a little concerned that the club have made no moves in the transfer market as far as I can see?

We need a left sided winger who tracks back, another Premier quality centre half, at least one more goal keeper, a left back and a central midfielder?

The only Internet speculation I've seen is a scare story regarding Brennan.

The comments on here will age like milk.

We will be active in the market, and people talking about FFP have no clue.

We finished on 37 points, that total would see a team safe every year for the last 15 years bar 1. Also worth mentioning that 4 teams finished below us

Our owner will almost certainly sign some players, probably would have spent 20+m already on Henderson if Man U had another keeper.

The difference this summer is that we adding quality to a good group so can take time and make sure the deal is right for us.

Also worth noting players like Richard’s, Scarpa, O’Brien, and Wood coming back from injuries or time away will be like new signings and all have potential to add to the group

But the best thing about this summer is a Cooper having a full pre-season to build with this group. We have seen growth in performance from likes of Johnson, Williams, MGW, Mangala, Niakate and Awoniyi and expect that to continue

Actually 38 points!

Spent all season studying the table but after we were safe I don’t think I have looked since, completely forgot the point we got during the party at the Palace 🤣

Why? This is meant to be a wum, I’m interested in what makes Forest the exception and able to continually spend more than their rival clubs of a similar size despite generating fairly modest commercial income. I’m not saying you have a huge wage bill, but the outgoings on players signings last year were huge for a club of your size so surely it’s logical to say to keep within FFP it won’t be the same story this year?

This is exactly what financial expert Kieran McKenna said last year about Forest.

I don’t think there has been a massive amount of transfer activity for many teams tbh.

Chelsea is the usual circus. Spurs the same. Brentford signings have been mostly the loans from last year.

Arsenal should have 2-3 in by the end of the week. Liverpool have dropped over a £100m on two players. Man U have Mount. Bournemouth have (as usual) got a couple of speedy wingers to go with their other speedy wingers. Brighton have a lot of money to spend, but have two free transfers and two signings.

Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Luton have a free transfer apiece.

Forest join Everton, Fulham, S.United and West Ham in signing no players.

When you look at it like that…it’s been a slow window for most clubs.

Harry Toffelo has been charged by the FA with 375 breaches of the gambling reg's.[ according to the Athletic]
That's him written out for most of the season then, it could only happen to Forest really, Ivan Toney received a 8 month ban for 232 infringements.

Bye Bye Harry.

It looks like Villa are making a serious bid to sign Brennan Johnson. Most fans don't want this to happen of course but we have to look at the bigger picture. For the foreseeable future we are going to have to sell our best players to balance the books. Every player has his price. It looks like £60mill is Brennan's price. If for that money we could bring in Hendo, Sangare, and Iheanacho I would say that would be good business. I know the salaries for those three would far exceed Brennan's salary but over time it could probably ease any FFP concerns.

The same Villa who have transfer restrictions for two of the last 3 years, i doubt they can afford another £60m, or even his buy out clause, which i think may be nearer £50m, apparently he’s on about £35k per week, not massive buy prem standards, especially when he sees what we are/were paying others, Henderson, Lingard, proposed Willian transfer. I know he recently signed a new contract, but i can understand why he feels aggrieved, probably looking for a new deal, rather than to move on.
