Since the reset under evatt when the club hit rock bottom each season has been an improvement. Promotion from league 2, 9th in league 1 and 5th and the play offs last season. Can evatt and his new squad of players make that next step up? Won't be easy. 3 key players gone in Trafford, Bradley and Lee. Also gone Kachunga, Dixon, isgrove and mj and thanks for everything. 8 new players in the door. 2 keepers Baxter and Coleman, defenders Dacres-cogley, Forrester and Ashworth, midfielders Mendes Gomes and Maghoma and Nlundulu made his loan a permanent deal. Hopefully the transfer dealings give depth at the back where really struggled last season with injuries and extra creativity in midfield. Up top we are relying on last seasons strikers to score the goals. Todays opponents Lincoln. Not an easy side to face. Improved last season finishing 11th from 17th the previous season. Potential play off challengers. 3 ex wanderers signed for them this summer. Tyler walker and for those still having nightmares of the Accrington game at home last season keeper Lucas Jenson who stopped everything that night and goal scorer Ethan Hamilton also signed this summer. Team news. The only definite absentee today is George Johnston who is out for the season after injuring his knee at bamber bridge. The rest of evatts 23 man are fit and available although I don't see toal and Böðvarsson playing today after both missing most of pre season. It's a rainy wet day in the north west bringing back memories of the first game of the season 2 years ago against mk Dons when everyone got drenched. Kick off 3pm.

Thanks for the highlights, Pasty. We should sign that defender of theirs, he knows where the goals are.
Hopefully, we will improve with each game and make a real promotion push. We have yet to see a lot more of our new players who came off the bench yesterday. If they are as good as their write-ups, we could be in for a good season.

You see that is the cost of growing old. I was sure that the BBC website said we were playing Cheltenham on Tuesday.
My optician sent me a request to make an appointment to attend for an eye test before I set off for Spain. I should have gone for the test instead of waiting until I get back home.

I see my error, I thought that we had a midweek game, and I didn't look at the date on the left-hand side of the screen.
