The difference with City is they have Pep (I say they but probably down to Pep) do target players that fit and will work in Pep's system(s) of play else they/he don't bother with them.

We (and other clubs) mostly just sign players because we think are good or may become good. Probably a fundamental flaw in our process for sure. We could learn a lot and improve as a team if we copied this.

However this only works if you stick with the same manger/coach for a number of years so from the off we fecked on that score.

Oh Pep is a genius and is no doubt a huge pull for players. That's totally fine and I get that.

Let's not pretend City weren't winning titles before he arrived though. They won it under Mancini and Pellegrini let's not forget and still managed to attract top players.

City has been transformed by oil money. Without it there would be no Pep would there?

If we follow suit and get taken over by Qatar then you just watch the reaction of the rest of the football league. It will cause a lot more shockwaves than City did. Personally I would have preferred had all this nonsense never been allowed in the first place and also the Glazer leveraged buy out wasn't either.

Fati deal might not be dead after all..I have more or less given up now. Might be a little lightweight for the EPL anyway but lets see where he ends up.

It will be interesting to see how Dean Henderson does at Palace. Knowing Man Utd they probably sold him for a few million pounds.

Maybe United are hiding behind ffp restrictions that just aren’t ther.

No one's buying their fake cries of poverty.

The United marketing machine is projected to declare revenues well in excess of £600m for 2022/23.

And that was without Champions League money.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah and the GLAZER debt is now close to 750m. Where do you think the rest of the money goes when it's not going on wages and transfers? We have a huge debt to pay off. Their debt.

We aren't a charity case club like City and Chelsea that can't pay their own way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We very much pay our own way you massive clown.

Utds problem isn't the transfer fees, its the wages on top of servicing debt. The debt repayments probably equate to somewhere around £1m per week soe call that 3 top players. Add to the fact that some of the contracts handed out in the last few years border on ridiculous for the return and a clearer picture emerges. Hence why maguire has dragged his feet on a move, he's on a fortune.

Disappointing Palmer didn't make it to the first team. I guess he was offered a choice, and left to play more games. Chelsea and odd choice though. Good luck to him - always liked him as a player.

Getting rid of Cancelo and getting Walker and Bernardo to extend their contracts was as good as any of the signings we've made.
