6 countries 3 continents

The 2030 World Cup will take place across Spain, Morocco, Portugal, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay

Makes total sense and I can already hear Pep and Klopp’s moaning now even though they won’t be at City or Liverpool lol

A World Cup played in winter and summer at the same time wtf

FIFA just doesn’t care

But hey atleast we’ve got a winter world cup in 2034 in Saudi Arabia to look forward to

Doesnt make sense to go to South America.

If they want to do this country nonsense they should just do it around Europe then the next world cup around Africa and then South America ect.

They're doing this for one reason and one reason only. They've long claimed that they wish to rotate the world cup around continents, so getting 3 done at once means they can fast track the rotation to Asia (and Saudi Arabia) in time for 2034.

The Saudis have already bribed half of the other federations, by all accounts, so there's no danger of them not getting support and now this legitimises a return to Asia so quickly

Read somewhere that the South America games are to celebrate the centenary of the 1st WC which Uruguay won in 1930

That's their excuse and they're sticking to it. But in reality it's just to get another continent out of the way and justify the impending announcement of Saudi hosting the following World Cup

It is a cycle of 3 anyway, so Aisa would have been front runners for 2034 anyway.

There are 3 games in S America as it is related to the 100 year anniversary of Uruguay winning the first world cup. Not for one moment do I think that Fifa do much right, but it's not as if teams will be continually travelling from S America to Europe / N Africa.

Not exactly in keeping with carbon footprint etc though.................

Southgate will still be the England manager and he'll still have a 37 year-old Harry Maguire starting for England
