Derby County 2 - 0 Exeter City

DERBY COUNTY v EXETER CITY League 1 #12

1945 Pride Park, Derby, Tuesday, 24th October 2023

Mmmmm........it's starting to get a little bit noxious as the Faithful realise that things are perhaps not proceeding the way they thought it might in League 1. Shrewsbury, by all accounts, got toxic (the atmosphere) especially the abuse given to Horihane at the end of the game. Not acceptable.

Look, it's easy to blame the manager but before we advocate pulling the trigger, remember managers we have got rid of in the past and then look how good they look the longer they are away from us - Nigel, Rowett, McClaren...............

Anybody have the opinion that maybe, just maybe Warne has it right and its the players who are not playing as he wants are getting it wrong? Perhaps if they did as he instructed then we would be skinning the league? Just a thought

So, Tuesday night will be interesting - I will stay to the end and I will not boo. If we win, I am allowed an Irish on a school night.

Crap outing for Exeter coming up here on a dark Tuesday night - so maybe the South Stand will out sing them.

Did we sort out our 3 or 4 at the back? Or is this debate now superflous in light of me craving a whiskey on a Tuesday night? Let me know.

Team news:- Wildsmith (GK), Wilson, Forsyth, Hourihane (C), Cashin, Bird, Waghorn, Mendez-Laing, Sibley, Nyambe, Nelson

Subs:- Vickers (GK), Bradley, Barkhuizen, Collins, Smith, Washington, Fornah

With all this talk of trips to Scotland in search of a decent pint, Heb seems to have gone remarkably quiet

Never mind about that Scouse...have you ever had a decent pint in Scotland? Keep to the important stuff.

My mrs hates Scotland, we only went once for a short break over 30 years ago never to return.

I am very sorry to hear that Scouse. I will mention it to someone and we promise to do better 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Don't take it personally, Heb. She's not much of a country girl to be honest. I think the distance between places that serve alcohol unnerved her! 😉

That's why the hip flask was invented!

Speaking of unpopular managers, Joey Barton has been sacked by Brizzle Rs. The Stevenage manager (Evans?) was interviewed yesterday and it can be found on You Tube. I had always regarded him as a yobbo but he came over really well with nothing but very good things said about DCFC and Warne. Or was he just playing mind games?

Re Scotland I've been to Mull, Iona, Orkneys and Tyree. Can't remember if I ever visited Arran so I don't know what that says about me or about Arran! Never been to Lewis, Heb. Did see golden eagles over Mull and watched a crow force a juvenile down to the ground. Exciting stuff. Can't comment on beers save to say that the American stuff is terrible - all gas and fizz.

Kudos to Vidal for his marathon. I once ran ten yards in downtown Chicago to get out of the rain. Does that count?

I always liked Steve Evans, he was manager of Rochdale when they were in their golden period.

I think the most north I've been in Scotland is to Applecross last July. I'd love to go to the islands, but I've heard there's not much going on and Heb has told us there are no pubs. Suppose it doesn't matter as the beer would have been rubbish!

Be a dear taxi back to Derby too.

Rams Supporters Trust have emailed details of car parking options for Stevenage. Not of much use to me but will relay on the thread in due course if of interest.
