Bit of an abstract one here but with this whole ‘hate march’ malarkey happening in London this coming weekend (I’ll be at the Sydney one) I keep seeing on Twitter that it’s an affront to British culture that it’s allowed to happen on armistice day.
What is British culture? For me it’s that famous quote that says ..
‘Being British is about driving a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then traveling home, grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV’.
I really enjoyed by time served in the UK (more than half my life so I’m qualified to judge) and perhaps one day I may move back and fulfil my destiny of owning Longleat and freeing all the animals but until then I’ll just enjoy the sunshine and easy access to 3pm kickoff PL football.
What is British culture and is the very definition of it being hijacked by the right in order to demonise Muslims who just want to stop the innocent killing of thousands of children on a day where surely that’s the whole point?

The West has given these people far more than land. They have welcomed them into their communities, work places, placed them in positions of authority, and allowed them all the freedoms we enjoy in the West.
