I agree that we need a younger model, between say 25 and 28 years old.

PS I hope you have seen or will get to see the best goal ever - Man U's first against Everton - unbelievable!

Thought it wasn’t even the best goal of the weekend. Sateen better goals than that at Derby. I once scored with an overhead from further than that. It could have gone anywhere but very fortunately went in the net. If you want to see a great goal look at the Olise goal for Palace this weekend. Totally in control from receiving the ball to giving the goal keeper no chance. Almost perfection and not a speculative volley.

Sateen??? Seen.

I wouldnt want to turn the CM clock back now, we should be looking for young, hungry strikers.
However, unless you consider 1 goal in every 3 games a poor return, I think we should at least give him credit for 3 good seasons, before the managerial merry go round started and the multiple loans kicked in.

Dead right Uncle, Collins isn't fit to lace Martin's boots.

In 3 seasons martin scored 25, 21 and 15. Not too bad for a free transfer and we should have had him this season, he is skilful and can control a ball unlike our 9.

Martin's downfall was when Bent and Ince were bought, not at all the right players for our team and results since prove that.

He was always useful in the air as we saw saturday, I thought he could have given us something a bit different to what we have.
But I wouldn't criticize the manager just because he didn't get him in.

One of the fantastic things about the beautiful game is the fact that great goals can be created in so many different ways. Olise's goal was magnificent, no doubt and was an example of the individual goal - only Olise was involved. The United goal included teamwork and a flash of individual brilliance which will probably never be equaled - the long raking pass from deep in the United half, inch perfect to the guy on the right who then slipped it through to another forward who put in an inch perfect cross. That volley was absolutely perfect in all its aspects. Some volleys can involve luck and could go anywhere. Not this one!

It's all a matter of opinion of course but I think Olise will be pipped for goal of the season.

If Spart can score an overhead kick like that one, then it undervalues it for me.

For balance, and I do admire Chris Martin, since 2020 he has scored 22 goals in 121 appearances which is not what you might call prolific. He had by far the best period of his career with us. Sometimes it is as much about the players around a striker as much as it is about the striker himself. Collins scored 68 in 174 matches for Luton for example. When teams are set up to a striker''S strengths they do much better.
