Last night's match and Brendan, etc

Couldn't comment on the match thread as I'm filtered by MaHeed'sNippin also known as I'm the competent Wullie Collum. So started this one.

Enjoyed that last night and it was the ideal way to win a game in December with a nice lead in the league and a demanding fixture list coming up.

Totally agree with Ginger. In those circumstances and with a good lead, you just manage the game out. Avoid injuries and fatigue and take the points. Anything else is madness.

I get all the negativity on Rodgers. I was actually pleased when he left because the football was terrible but I'm backing him 100% this time. For the moment at least. He's new in the club and the fact that he's been there before is largely irrelevant. It's a completely different squad and from last night's starting team only 2 players were even there and only McGregor was a regular starter.

It was always going to take him some time to get up to speed.

Saw some folk mentioning that he'll be sacked at the end of the season if x or y happens. That's not even wrong planet stuff, it's wrong universe stuff.

Celtic will be planning on collecting money when he goes, not laying it out. Even if Rangers won a treble, he wouldn't get sacked. The only way that would happen would be if he turned on the board and started briefing against them and, given how close he is to Desmond, that's very unlikely.

Special mention to Matt O'Riley. Wasn't at this best last night but still had some sublime touches and a brilliant goal. It's clear to see that he has improved massively as a player under Brendan and I'm not sure why the manager isn't getting credit for that.

Finally, Brendan is having to make do at the moment. Fitting square pegs into round holes. If he gets some money in January to buy a couple of players who are actually specialists at passing the ball sideways and backwards, then we'll be truly dreadful to watch.

But it’s the Feast of the Immaculate Conception!

I hope to make the night out in 2031 by which time I can patch my kids on a Friday night.

Really should be re-named the incredulous deception, although they probably couldn't believe their luck, when people believed it. Btw, if they got gold as a gift, why did he grow up poor?
