Xabi Alonso.

Have watched Leverkusen a few times this season and Xavi Alonso has got them flying. I would be surprised if they did not win the Bundesliga this season, which of course begs the question, what will Xavi do, and where will he go at the end of the season ?

There are a lot of parallels with the 2001/2002 season for Leverkusen. Hopefully that doesn't affect them mentally. They were days away from a treble. Then were runners up in all three. Also what happened with Dortmund on the final day of the season, last season. Bayern can just be Bayern and win it by default if another team isn't perfect all the way to the final day.

With the run they are on, bayern if they win their game in hand are still only 4 points behind lol

Could it be a Xabi-Xavi swap !
I think that both will be on the move in the near future most probably the end of this season, but to whom !

You never no.

Xabi's dad played alongside Maradona for Barça, though remarkably his most successful days were at Real Sociedad, where he was a nailed on starter in the side that won consecutive league titles in the early '80s.

Now 2 points behind on equal games played.

Yes Nick, we know all about Bayern and their gluttony in the Bundesliga but, as good as they are, I think that Leverkusen might just manage to pull it off this season .

Take a look at them if you can, they are very impressive, and I'm saying that with the other half of my family born and bred Muncheners !

I can't see a weakness in Leverkusen so far this season, of course I don't know what their reserve situation is ,but Xabi has built a very strong side there and I think they will win the Bundesliga this season.
Bayern with all their resources ,especially up front, are not so strong in midfield this season and their CB's don't inspire confidence.

Just what I thought, congrats Xabi and Leverkusen

Always try not to get excited for a Bundesliga upset. Dortmund and if I’m not mistaken Leipzig have been in this position at points over last few seasons mid season. Bayern seem to do a City and just eventually steamroll points second half of season to beat whoever is trying to challenge them

Fair play Leverkusen have done it

and from what i've seen of Arsenal, they could well give Bayern a tanking on Tuesday, Bayern were absolutely dreadful last night against a very average Heidenheim !
