Is vdV the best centre back in the world?

How many times did van der Ven get back today to make a goal saving tackle? 10 times?

I don't think I've ever seen a centre back as good at recovery tackles as this guy. He's as fast as lightening across the ground, knows exactly how much space he can give to an attacker without him getting out of his reach, and then times and executes his tackles to perfection. Decent distribution as well.

I'll ask simply, is he the best centre back in the world?

If he was playing for Varpool`s 13 men he would be lauded as the second coming of Jesus.

He is top class, and does not need to get away with red card tackles and giving away clear penalties etc like what VVD does at Varpool.

He will be frighteningly good in a couple more years as he irons out his game.

Good to see Kane playing for Spurs this season after signing a contract with Bayern. That's dedication.

I'm just pleased we have him......hopefully only going to get better.

No. It's too soon, he needs to prove himself longer, and at many levels not just in the league before he can be seen as the best in the world.

He looks great and this time next year we will be without hesitation naming him among the all time best Centre backs for Spurs

Would definitely put him in the top 5 on this season so far. He’s been fabulous he really has. But still got a way to go to be in the top 3 of VVD, Konate and Saliba.

How is Konate better than Van de Ven?? Don’t see it myself. Only a deluded scouser would believe it
