Sin Bin

I seem to be one of the few for this

The reason is that the refs don't card tactical fouls early enough normally, and even if they do, they won't give the second as they don't want to be accused of ruining the game.

So basically, we need it, because the refs don't do their jobs properly or consistently.

4-5 Man City and Liverpool players should be booked in the tunnel before kick off just to save time.

Ange is right, and just highlights the more important issue in the game thats still not been addressed. Timewasting.

If the blue card comes in game clock where every time the ball goes out of play the clock stops it'll be a travesty. The sin bin will just see teams time wasting until the 10 mins are up and theyre back to 11.

Also need a stop clock for set pieces and how long players are allowed to take a corner throwin or free kick. If they take too long reverse the decision give it to the other team. Fourth officials barely do anything give them the responsibility, simple.

Easy things that would improve the game, yet they choose to introduce sheit thats just going to ruin it.

before a game clock*

I'm for it in theory, but no amount of rule changes will fix the current standard of incompetent refereeing

Seems a far easier way to tackle time-wasting and also easier to implement without the issue of inconsistency of humans.

Or it’s the thing to sort things out as right now my personal most hated thing is bringing players down when they are on a counter attack.

Yellow isn’t enough imo

They said the same about VAR

This has absolutely nothing to do with improving the game and everything to do with setting an example at grass roots level. We've seen loads of incidence even in kids football where they're giving refs absolutely pelters. Why? Because they've seen it on television. It's a rule change to increase the ever-dwindling level of respect players have for referees, which then, you'd hope, impacted football at all levels. The only problem is that it won't work. You don't increase respect with more discipline. You do it with reason and understanding. The best referees don't sweat the dissent because it's part and parcel of competitive sport. They're highly strung athletes that want to win at all costs.

We might see marginal gains in terms of dissent because players will want to avoid the 10 minutes off but at what cost? We might improve behaviour but we'll lose what makes the game so great - the football itself.

Terrible idea. 10 mins won’t be played. Lucky to get 2 minutes. Teams will be using the utmost time wasting and games manship until they get their man back
