Happy Valentines Day

Roses are red
Violets are Blue
If we win by three
We go above you.

Rangers were utter pash under Beale but can do the unthinkable tonight and go top of the league with a 3 goal victory over Ross County as they eventually complete their games in hand.

Big Phil has come in and enjoyed one of the greatest new manager bounces in the history of the game. Won his Europa group, won the League cup and now has the chance to lay down a marker and take Rangers to the league summit for the first time since Gio shaat it.

Many Celtic commentators were happy being top and having points in the bag despite Rangers games in hand. The momentum all seemed to be with Rangers though, OF game aside.

Celtic deserve credit for narrowly beating the injury ravaged 10 men of Rangers in the OF. Brendan gracefully crowed something about seeing off another new Rangers manager.

Many Celtic fans saw enough to decide that with 2 wins out of 2 this season they have Rangers number and that they 'win the games that matter'. Celtics draw at Pittodrie earlier this month seemed to matter though as Rangers now have the chance to go top.

Brendan has been bristling about the negative noise about his team. This 'noise' seems to have been caused largely by Celtic fans on forums and phone-ins - the people who watch the team week in week out - complaining at how pash they are to watch.

So the day has come where parity in games played can at last be reached between the big two. Finger crossed the Gers can do it.

Rangers are still very much a work in progress. However, early glimpses of the January recruits Silva, Diomande and Saturdays exciting MOTM Cortez have offered optimism that they could breathe some life into a forward line robbed of the clubs biggest goal threats (Roofe, Sima and Danilo) through long term injury.

The mentality, fitness, workrate and shape of the team has visibly improved. Result after result has been delivered, mostly with minimal fuss. The crowd without doubt has reconnected with the team.

Big Phil deserves massive credit for what he has done so far and is rightly playing down the significance of going top. A 3 goal victory tonight would cement the support behind him and the team though and provide further belief for the remainder of the season.

The title race is very much alive and 50/50 IMO whether Ranger go top tonight or not. I wouldnt imagine we will stay there for long if we do make it. I expect the lead to change hands a good few times before the end of the season.

But lets be honest - I hope we do it - its the only way Valentines Day is having a happy ending for me and many other fat bears tonight

All that supposed great football under Baldemort yet their goals come from set pieces and long balls

Same old new Rangers, effective but dull
----------------------------------------------------------------------
but not enough to make you switch off I see
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I did actually. I missed the goal before half time then I watched the snooker instead of the second half. Thanks for your interest
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Only fans of a very special nature could claim that a team who had forced the opposition keeper into a record number of saves were 'dull'.

And then turn to the snooker for a bit of excitement
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who had the record previously and how many saves was it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No idea. Not one I track religiously.

It was Liam McLeod @BBCScotlands' factoid apparently. He can take full credit and all follow up questions on it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's amazing how many records rangers pick up along the way.

My narrative’s got the same spine but with differences. Wife’s parents

were ‘mixed’. Da was Tim, Ma from Staunch - bros in Ludge & Masons.

Married in the pineapple 1940’s not a single one from her side there.

Generation later I come on the scene early 70’s. Tim Da deid by now

but not much missed. Tyrant and profligate by all accounts. Met every

one of the Staunch lot and they were all brand new. They still are

those that are left. We buried the 92 year old ‘baby’ William

3 weeks ago. The wee Norn clergyman did him proud.

People are people IMO - mostly good but a small number not so.

That applies to every group and demograph I’ve ever encountered.

Great comment mate.

I was going to say, you’re wise beyond your years, but… 🤣

Philippe Clement press conference notes

“Rabbi Matondo had a small muscle issue, he’s had a scan & ‘I think he will be back short term’ but will miss Sunday’s game.

Leon Balogun returns & has made adjustments to his mask.

We can become better, with three new players & returns from Injury, we can become better with more work.

Away games are special but this will be a hard game.

Goal difference will become a factor in May, I always push my players for maximum in every game anyway so nothing changes.

I have been looking into set pieces this week, we have created chances but we can definitely do better and always looking to improve.

Jack Butland is one of the best goalkeepers I’ve worked with and is a leader in the dressing room.

Kemar Roofe is still working to return, we need him to return 100% & he can still be an important player this season”
