City scramble a point out of nothing

This week-end Chelsea looked more like potential PL champions than Man. City. City's defense in the first half had more holes than swiss cheese. Also, their offensive approach was very predictable with their continued lobbing the ball into the Chelsea penalty box and expecting their "BIG GUY" to score. Unfortunately their "BIG GUY" seemed to be struggling throughout the whole game. Too many corner kicks wasted! Most obvious was the ineffectiveness of Doku, who saw way too much of the ball, and could rarely do anything worthwhile with it! I think that the better teams have already caught on to his style of play and how easy it is to shut him down. Hopefully Pep sees that arrogance and reputation alone will not win City the PL title and that they have to be faster and more direct when bringing the ball downfield!
On the brighter side, I believe that the PL title is still theirs to be won.

I didn't think it was out of nothing as much as Poch bottling it too early with the defensive substitutions. City were always going to equalise when Chelsea took off their outlets.

You do know the BIG GUY's Grandmother died a couple of days before the game. He was given the option to have a week off but insisted on playing - He's likely to do better in the coming games.

Odd that you commented on this game rather than the previous 11 which City won in fairly comfortable style.

This season was never going to be a stroll in the park after losing the likes of Gundogan, Laporte, Mahrez and Cancelo - Not to mention Palmer who would have been given a lot more game time if he'd chosen to stay.

Chelsea did look fresher, probably because they hadn't played in Europe a couple of days before and could possibly be contenders next season.

The fact most of our corners come to nothing is a common talking point amongst our fans and it's nothing new unfortunately.

Dunno why on Earth VAR refused to see that clear penalty at the death.

And I've no clue as to why MotD chose to focus all its attention on the handball issue without uttering as much as a whisper about the persistent shirt tugging.

Wolves were also denied a clear pen that VAR refused to call back, as were Brentford. One day the correct errors that are clear as mud, the next week you could shoot a guy in the box and they'll do nothing if the ref misses it.

They didn't show the other VAR checks either. There was one before the break and the City players were going mad, I've yet to see a replay.

Haaland did a similar challenge on Chilwell in the first half and a foul was given in regards to the Walker's claim near the end. The handball would have been harsh but we've been punished for softer ones ie the Grealish one in the Cup Final.

I know the OP's a nut job but 70% possession, 31 goal attempts but we got 'a goal from nothing'.

The handball would've been harsh, I think it might even have hit Dias's arm first. But the shirt tug was a stonewall pen, is persistent, and takes place before either handball. Newcastle got a pen when the player just flopped to the ground when the ball was barely even in play. Días is clearly being pulled backwards and off balance as he's trying to jump, clear as you like, but VAR refuses to see it.
