If I understand correctly...you took the guy who buys players for Brighton. Then a year took the guy Brighton replaced him with?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Also their manager and multiple players plus constant rumours we are interested in more of their players at exorbitant prices
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Aye. But what I mentioned initially is pretty shocking. Your owners really don't have a clue what they're doing.

I say this kind of tentatively but it can't really get much worse for Chelsea.

They are stacked with potential, improving slowly surely it will come together in the end and they will be back in the big 6/7 picture sooner rather than later.

Transfer bans, points deductions could come into play though.

I think bit by bit they're trying to gain inside knowledge on Bloom's data algorithm.

I'm sure any approach for Toney or Frank would just be buying access to having a one-on-one, untraceable conversation with Matthew Benham

The circumstances around it only serve to amplify the ridiculousness of the situation. Obviously it suits the narrative to label the owners clowns, but they really don't help themselves,

In the past 14-15 months under the new ownership, Chelsea have appointed 11 personnel whether staff or players from Brighton. (via @FabrizioRomano)

To me it continues to demonstrate a lack of football understanding by the CFC owners because BHA are much lower on the food chain than CFC.

They have been superb in identifying young talent, giving them a chance to develop over 2 or 3 seasons and cashing in.

A big club can only do so much of this because more often than not what they need is a player who has done this proving, at a club like BHA, and is ready for the next step where they will make an instant impact.

There is almost no escape for clubs with the highest aspirations from having to spend big bucks on quality players.

What previous owners have done was to build a highly successful and profitable academy that produced the occasional top player but a lot of players who have been sold for profit.

Where this ownership has failed is that rather than taking those players who are ready to take the next step, for a reasonable sum of money, they have paid sums as if they are proven world beaters.

The failing has not been in not identifying these players as 16 or 17 yo's, it has been when they start to show their potential as 20 yo's they have massively over paid for them and given them stupidly long contracts.

Teams at the top do not rely on or give much chance to youth, unless forced to.

You missed that we signed Christopher Vivell as sporting director first. Then signed Winstanley as director, then added Laurence Steward as sporting co-director, and put the 'global' sporting director Vivell on gardening leave before adding another director to oversee recruitment Sam Jewell

Vivell called us the most exciting project in world football. He deserves to be out of work

Agreed, you make an excellent point.

Why didn't Boehly - Clearlake simply just buy Brighton?

Their strategy to date reeks of rudderless ignorance.

Not one single decent original footballing idea amongst the new ownership !

These guys simply have got too much money and they have brought a play thing.

This was said about Roman, but time & a trophy cabinet full of elite club football silverware suggested otherwise.

oh and lets not forget the fact the club was sold under duress for 2.5bln

In the new ownerships case it is difficult to understand why they thought they were equipped to buy a club like CFC , bar they have got too much money burning a hole in their pockets.

At least with Ratcliffe at Utd , its evident he has a plan
