Martinez

Back after the international break according to reports.

Hopefully he can finally get a bit of luck with injuries.

We need him.

Adarabioyo on a free plus Branthwaite would make a lot of sense. Too much sense for us perhaps.

ANOOA looks decent and he's a tank

Branthwaite looks a talent, but I’m hoping we’ll be looking for a top cb closer to their prime.

Wish Evans was in his early 30s, that defence is crying out for brawn and brains. Martinez's brains and brawn of Evans!

…..

You do know we let Evans go because he wasn’t physical enough.

Yes, even though that was his strength he was too error and a bag of nerves at times. He was inconsistent.

Fast forward his time away and he's the version we wish he was when had him last. He's playing to his strengths but with maturity and consistency.

I think playing for th clubs he did after leaving us helped other aspects of his game. Made him a better player, if you will. Had he not gone don't think he would have picked up these parts of the game.

On another note wasn't it a Maguire and Evans pairi v that won the Prem for Leicester?

No! Both were signed after the title winning season.

I recall one member of this forum declare (with the certainty of a match-going fan) having watched him play for Leicester last season, that it was clear that Evans' legs were gone, he wasn't good enough for a relegated side, and he's finished as a top flight player. I don't think there's much argument that he has been our most consistent and all-round best defender this season, even if he wouldn't have played had we not had an injury apocalypse.

How can you forget that titanic partnership of Captain Morgan and Robert Huth?
