After the snoozefest (I absolutely hated it) that was 2021's Dune, I was somewhat strong armed into watching Dune Part 2 in IMAX by my missus. Going into the screening I had zero expectations other than another painfully, slow-paced 'first gear all the way through' 2 hour plus movie. I was wrong. Very wrong!
Dune Part 2 is everything that's great about modern cinema; incredible pacing from the world go, great writing, characters you care about, brilliant direction and ridiculously good cinematography. At last a movie that doesn't try to force some kind of woke social commentary upon the audience, instead staying true to it's source material and delivering on every front.
I've now seen it twice, in IMAX, in just over a week. Highly recommended and that's coming from someone who hated the first one and has never read the books. It's not flawless by any stretch, I think Butler's performance as the villain is actually overrated, but this movie packs a mean punch
9/10 must see.

as a fellow didnt like part one person its interesting to hear about part 2 being great
even being bored by the first one i was somewhat drawn in at the end to watch the 2nd one

What a crap movie. Horrific plot and execution. People were walking out of the cinema it was that bad. I stayed cos curler said it was a great movie.
