ETH

Are there many arguments left for keeping him?

Like some others I’ve sort of flip flopped on ETH.

I’ve never been ETH out but I’ve been between the opinion that I wouldn’t argue against his sacking and at times I’ve also had the opinion of giving him another season under hopefully a better structure.

Last season I was disappointed with the style of play but we won a trophy and had our 2nd best PL season points wise post SAF so I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

This season, while it’s had its fun moments no doubt has been a sh*t show on the main. You can only blame injuries to a point but the style of play has been awful and we’re conceding 20 odd shots in what feels like every game.

He just seems clueless in organising a midfield.

Should he get one more season or should we tear it up and start all over once again?

99% of football think the same.

We should be set up to be compact and a good counter attacking team. That's all we are good for.

If he wanted us to become a top passing team that controlled games then why did he sign Casemiro? He's one of the biggest reasons we surrender the ball every 30 secs. Him and Bruno are Central midfielders who are meant to be our calmest players on the ball and they are anything but.

Rashford and Garnacho are trying to make stuff happen, and often failing, because there's literally nothing happening in midfield apart from with young Mainoo and he can't be expected to carry us.

The set up of the team is an absolute joke and the sooner we get a new manager who can spot this, the better off we will be.

I should have mentioned also that he has promoted youth well.

Pretty much every manager post SAF. ETH has essentially promoted 2 youth players who would be breaking through under any manager imo.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He introduced them wisely, minutes at a time. Gave Rasmus backing when he wasn't scoring.
I can't think of defender brought through by another manager. Not sure who brought McT through. It's not like our first team is full of academy players.

Imagine being found out to be waffling. Utterly wrong. Shown evidence and proceed to filter me. Grow up man.

Irony of complaining about being filtered after being called out previously for hiding behind a filter themselves. (Whilst not knowing how the filter button works)

Looking back I see you are wrong on that too. When I said you called people idiots etc, I wasn't referring to myself.
I won't see you response in any event, but filtering is the right thing for me.

For me, ETH is now becoming too much part of the problem, rather than the answer. I'm not sure the players are truly with him and would run through brick walls for him - you get that feeling with most of the other top sides.
I wouldn't say they have downed tools, but do they really believe in what ETH is trying to do, and in all seriousness, does ETH really know/believe in what he is doing. His effort is there, but he just looks lost - I actually think for everyone's sake, it's best he goes, even if he won the Cup - the long term strategy isn't working under him, and there are too many things to fix which are linked to him.

I would also add that if someone new comes in and it doesn't work out, that doesn't mean getting rid of ETH was wrong, it just means the next guy wasn't right either, but we can't be afraid to make that mistake.

As I’ve said, if they got rid of EtH, I’d understand it.
I think there are cases to be made why he should stay, and why he should go.
But I’m saying he should stay, but must hit the ground running next season. Obviously that has to do with the Players he has going into next season.

In the grand scheme of things, 2 years in the job isn’t long enough. And it’s not like UTD the club are a well oiled machine. But, let’s see how he responds to working with football minded people behind the scenes.
