Well I thought that went rather well.

Great weekend of football, boosted the GD significantly, others chose to impart a negative spin on theirs, all while the outfit near the cricket ground blagged a point against a vastly superior Bournemouth and maintained their negative GD and emphasised why they remain irrelevant in any discussion about the top teams.

Rodri, Foden and Bernardo got a rest, Walker should be back so fingers crossed for Wednesday.

Funnily enough, if Arsenal actually made a game of it against us, they would probably be top with a 1 point advantage. Arteta schoolboy error.

That's exactly what I said at the time!

Heard a statement Liverpool have gone behind in 21 games this season?! So hard to keep up turning games round like that, about time they dropped a few.

Heard a stat that should be!

I think two different things going on here. At Liverpool Klopp's exit will be more and more an issue as the season continues. At Arsenal Arteta lacks experience of the run in, particularly balancing it against the CL. He overthinks things and becomes indecisive. It turns the team into bottlers. tbf we've seen Pep do the same occasionally.

Yeah that was what most City fans thought. Arteta’s naivety and inexperience showed because he thought their main rival was Liverpool hence he came and parked bus for a draw and I will be honest the way we were playing at the time we were there for the taking…missed opportunity for him but obviously worked out for us… moral of the story , have some balls

As Pep once said "play with courage".

We deduced that we need to win every single game after the Arsenal draw in order to have a chance of defending the title. We know our defence is a liability for counter-attacks yet we still continue to take the risk to play the high line and attack. It looks, at time of writing, to be the right call.

High risk, high reward.

You are right. We were absolutely there for the taking yet they played a back six. Arteta's mentality seems to be lacking in this philosophy and is seeping into his team what with Rice's comment.

It all down to Pep, having decent players help but many of those players have become who they are because of him and there are teams out there with better squads that will struggle against Peps teams.

I have no sympathy for Arteta if he fails this season, something about him irks me and he has not been very humble when talking about Pep although he learnt everything he knows under him but still manages to come across quite arrogant after winning 1 trophy… then a manager like DeZerbi, doesn’t know Pep but is humble enough to say Pep inspired them to become a manager, maybe that shows him confidence as well.

Cole Palmer is level with Erling for the golden boot now. Hope this can be the catalyst for him to push on and get the wins for us in the league!

I'd put money on Palmer going to United in the next 2 years.

I think you might be right, we have nourished a viper in our bosom! I find there is also a disconnect and something off about him… we should ban any kid with ties to any top 5 prem teams plus united from the academy!

Interesting thoughts about Palmer on other threads.

One had him ‘joint level’ at the top of the goal scoring charts, a United fan has him as clear leader 😹
