Taken with a massive pinch of salt

A summary I can agree with. Most important to me is the drastic reduction in the wage structure. An adjustment that will require a massive sell off and an increased use of our youth team.

Read and say what you think (it's a bit long)

We are probably looking at our smallest summer budget in a while. We still owe fortunes from previous disastrous signings and we won't have CL income to spend.

Genuinely wouldn't be surprised if we pick up a few freebies like Barkley etc. Thats where we are now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ratcliffe cleared.2/3 of the transfer debt, plus yhere is room.for him to.invest further to allow us to spend without FFP problems.

Oh there will be investment for sure. Genuinely don't think it will be what people are hoping for though.

Everton aren't going to sell Branthwaite for less than 70/80m if they stay up which I believe they will.

A season or two to get rid of some players and bring in some stop gap signings who aren't on massive wages might be our only way out of this mess.

People who are expecting 60/70m each on a defender, a CM, ST and winger are going to be disappointed

I'm not sure.

Whilst Ineos will be smarter, take greater risks on players and negotiate harder, ultimately, quality players are expensive.

No, we won't be seeing £80m signings, but they aren't about to go shopping in the bargain bin either.

A new manager is needed, Ten Hag is done at this club and doesn’t deserve another chance.

Does anyone that isn’t RDD or Culer or rival fans suggest he does?

If you are referring to me, I have stated ETH should go this Summer.

Seems a reasonable approach, and therefore reasonable guess-work in the tweets. I don't buy the idea that anyone is sufficiently well connected to the club that they can take the temperature of the mood of the players, while also having insights into what Ineos wants to do with recruitment / with the managerial situation. (In general, what we know is that the Ineos leadership is very much process driven, rather than having prescribed solutions, so I'm quite sceptical whenever headlines or ITK figures claim to know which players or managers Brailsford or Sir Jim want to bring in.) So the tweets are interesting to read, but primarily as a thought exercise, formed from stringing together a lot of the reporting and rumours and a few formal public statements from the club together with some educated guesses.

Because ridiculous amounts spent on players has worked for the last decade?
Id rather we bought some 6 foot 5 young nutter from the Serbian league for 2 pence than spend 80 million on another sheit defender in England

I think Gregg has grossly undervalued the Serbian league here

Like I said, a hefty pinch of salt. I ignore the transfer targets tbh, that is pure guesswork. What we can only base the analysis is based on us becoming "reasonable" which is the one thing we can give Ineos some credit for through out their previous ownerships. Reduce wages with corresponding change in mindset, More youth. a larger group mindset rather than the manager is the king and we are his subjects thing we do now. I believe we will have a large reset of players and management. A more analytical process too.

Its all hope, based on reasonable ownership. Aligning with literally every other top club.

How are their other clubs performing overall since they have taken over?
