Gabriel Jesus

Came on and had an impact with a great assist a week ago against Bayern.
Stunk the place out against Villa on Sunday.

Sums up the two very contrasting faces of our Brazilian "striker" in the CL and PL.

So, the big question, does he start tomorrow?
The smaller question, if yes, where does he play?

My personal opinion is he should start on the left, with Havertz up front.

His 4 goals 3 assists in the PL is pathetic, but his 4 goals and 3 assist in the CL is a great return.

The need for a big response after the two disappointing results in the last week is there, and tbh the defence has to step up as well. The defending versus Bayern and for Villas first was tragic with more than one culprit for all 3 goals - I excuse Villa's 2nd as we were chasing, but do also note the errors for Watkins miss off the post and other incidents

The pressure is building. Time for them to show the workd they have the balls for the fight.

Should mention his starting on the left is with Tomi behind him not Zinny or Kivvy.

Tough call. I'm loathe to leave out Martinelli but he's also been pretty poor since coming back.

i'd agree probably, Jesus on the left Havertz through the middle, or if Tomi can start then play Marti on the left.

Like the idea of having Martinelli and Trossard coming off the bench - both have proved effective off the bench.

Total neutral, but Jesus is a funny one. No doubt he’s a talented footballer, but what is he? To me he doesn’t really have a standout position. He can be good, but not great, in a number of forward positions … not sure that’s enough at the very top level, to win you the big titles. Havertz has similar issues IMO.

Jesus is a 5 a side footballer I'd say. Like has moments of brilliance, quite good in tight areas and calm in the box but yeah you see why City sold him, doesn't really suit any particular position enough.

Havertz is kind of the opposite, would be awful at 5 a side. He's a clever player with his movement and surprisingly strong, but just not very good at passing, shooting or dribbling! Bit of a jack of all trades though so has been useful enough

Agree with most of what the OP said but I would start Martinelli left. Trossard is a better option from the bench than Martinelli.

I'd have Jesus on the bench. I would still start Martinelli. Jesus and Trossard to come on in the 2nd half if needed!

Agreed.
