A lot depends on how the appointment of Slot goes.

If he's good, which it looks like he is but also Ten Hag looked good at Ajax. Then he's well backed and allowed to put his own stamp on the team you could still operate at the top level from next season.

He should probably be replacing Salah to cash in while he's still worth good money.

He absolutely has to do something about that centre forward position because Nunez is a fookin liability, touch worse than Lukaku without the goal scoring ability. The guy Gimenez he's got at Feyenoord could be the answer but again it's the dutch league gamble, some guys transition easily and others look like donkeys.

Couple of wingers to replace Salah.

A midfield general which will be the hardest one but the other pieces of that puzzle are there.

Probably a new CB and a full back.

Most important summer window in many moons. Get it right, continue as a top club, fook it up and fook up the next era.

I cant see us doing all that in 1 window. Im not sure we need as much as that either. 2 or 3 that go straight into the 1st team is what we need.

Weve had a season very comparible with arsenals last year. Led for a good bit but then have ultimately crumbled at the crunch time. Arsenal went out and got 3 for their 1st team in raya rice and havertz who have all played their roles in pushing them onto another level.

New forward, midfielder and probs a cb for me. We get them 3 right we should be in a good position to go again.

Massive decline is where you're heading lads. Strap in as it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Nah it's.ok, we're not United.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Too right you're not. We've actually won the league 13 times in the time it took you to win another.

What time does the magical mystery tour bus leave the Docks for the big parade sponsored by Carabao? 😂

Stop banging on about history.

The king is dead; long live the King.

That’s been my view since November. JK, great, fantastic, world class, you name it, but now he’s gone.

That the team has got this far, especially so after the announcement, is a credit to one and all. But the last 3-4 games, I’ve been watching a Red team devoid of energy, both physical and especially mental being spanked all round the field by lower - all much respect - much lower quality teams.

Our season is effectively over. Yes, there’s still games to play, points to win, but luck will have to arrive by the bucketload if we are to improve our position in the PL.

European Championship next year, all but garuanteed, Slot, if we get him sounds v good.

I await the coronation of our new monarch.

I feel like Liverpool would have been better off not announcing the Klopp exit.

A good article in the press today suggesting exactly that, citing SAF’s own opinion of declaring early retirement, followed by ManU going into meltdown.

We are where we are, the season will soon be over

It was going to be leaked hence the hasty announcement. I would have preferred us to deny the news but we may have felt that it would have unsettled the squad.

We'll never know I suppose. Think its easy to say that now that the wheels have come off. A couple of monthd ago when we were winning games left right amd centre with half a squad everyone thought it was a masterstroke and that it had galvanised the teams.

Ultimately I think it just comes down to the fact we are not as good as arsenal or city.

If you sell Salah you will need to bring in at least 1 replacement.

The full back can probably wait but the need there is growing.
