PL Team of the Season...

Just three more rounds of games, the voting is probably already in.

Goalkeeper
Given Alisson and Pope have missed a lot of games, Ederson has missed a few and Ramsdale has been benched, it will probably be a new name in goal. Vicario and Emi Martinez seem to be favoured by many - despite their teams conceding 52 goals and one set to break the record for top 4 most goals conceded. David Raya will probably win golden gloves, but unlikely to get in. Jordan Pickford could be a shout, 2nd in the golden gloves, conceded less than Vicario and helped keep Everton up.

Right Back
Ben White must be in contention with his consistency down the Arsenal right. Kyle Walker is always in the conversation, and Spurs fans will add Pedro Porro to the argument. Kieran Trippier hasn't had a great season with a dip in form and injury, while Trent Alexander-Arnold cannot be ruled out. Not sure if there is anyone else in with a shout.

Left Back
Destiny Udogie seems to be getting a lot of praise. It is a difficult position to pick, Pervis Estupinan, Antonee Robinson and Rayan Ait Nouri have had decent spells. Alfie Doughty a bit of a left field choice. The likes of City, Arsenal and even Villa haven't had a regular, while Andy Robertson has missed a lot of games.

Centre Backs
William Saliba and Gabriel definitely have to be in the conversation. Virgil van Dijk will be mentioned by many. Some will push the Spurs CBs forward. Jordan Brainthwaite may be discussed. Citys defenders, Nathan Ake and Manuel Akanji could be in for CB or LB.

Midfield
Rodri and Declan Rice is one discussion, with Rodri probably coming out on top in most arguments. Bernardo Silva is also a good shout, with Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard also worthy, but Kevin de Bruyne missed too much of the season.

Attack
Recency bias will push Mo Salah down a bit, but his numbers can't be ignored. Cole Palmer is definitely is the mix, along with Phil Foden. Bukayo Saka, Heung-Min Son and Jarrod Bowen all have the numbers to get them into the conversation.

Striker
Ollie Watkins is the most productive in terms of goals and assists, but Erling Haaland leads the golden boot race. Alexander Isak and Dominic Solanke both have had great scoring seasons in mid-table, while Kai Havertz has made a late surge...

Obviously I have forgotten some players who have had stellar seasons, but that is what the comment section is for...

My prediction
Vicario
Walker, Van Dijk, Saliba, Udogie
Rodri, Rice
Palmer, Foden, Bernardo
Watkins

It’s moot anyway, in the context of this thread, as he’ll not be anywhere near team of the season I don’t think.

I think Isak is the best CF in the Prem. Better overall player than Haaland and a better finisher than Watkins. Other than Kane, I can't think of a better CF in Europe

Yeah Thats fair..... Watkins has improved massively under Emry & has had a great season. My point was if money was no object...... I'd have Isak over Watkins & Haaland at Spurs every day of the week !

Isak is legit top five strikers in the world skill set wise.

Hopefully he can stay clear of injuries, as he’s good to watch.

Definitely in the Sorenson, Jaaskaleinen bracket of PL keepers. I wonder if a keeper has ever got into the TotS when conceding 55+ goals?
