Hannover highlights

Looking sharp up front, but Hannover are 2nd division in Germany.
LUFC Germany can tell us what standard Hannover are at.
Joseph must be number one for the CF role. Willie and Cree ran amok. Boy, we will miss them when they go.
Defence wobbled and would concede goals in the Championship to the kind of opportunities Hannover had. Anyone seen the whole game yet? If so, what did you think?

Saw a fair bit of it, its pre-season so i dont get to carried away but we were fairly aggressive with the press and some of the passing and movement was very good.
Might be a slight change in style of play this season if Gruevs goal is anything to go on.
Aaronson looked ok and i will be surprised if he isnt an asset this season.

Promising start.

Still feel we need...wait for it...another left back.
Another midfielder who can add goals. And maybe
another striker who can be relied upon, rather
than hoping sick note gets fit regular. Good start.

Time left in the window. Squad looks more balanced.
Add to it. Especially add to it if we lose Cree/Willy G.

watched the whole game.

Hannover looked very poor.

Darlow had little to do and Meslier could do little about the goal, he looked sharp on other occasions.

Much has been made of the back three but we didn't go with that. All of our defenders had a run out, thought Firpo and Wober did OK at left back, ditto Sam and after so little time with the squad, thought Bogle was probably our man of the match, this is despite Joseph's brace. Wober impressed in his interplay with Cree.

Their goal came from a mistake in defence, Struijk's back pass put Meslier in all sorts of trouble. Rodon and Debayo both did OK so, I don't recognise the OP's claim that the defence were sloppy. It is pre-season and we were a week or two behind Hanover.

We looked OK in midfield, Ampadu was sharp in the tackle, a couple of Crew's passes were stunning. Rothwell had a good half and Gruev is clearly fighting for his place.

I thought Gnonto didn't really have a stand out game though I would agree with the OP on Summerville, the Hannover defenders looked terrified of him, especially the lad on loan who hacked him down every time he went near him.

Piroe scored but other than that offered little. Once again, it's hard to see a role for Joffy he tried hard but little came off for him.

A good team display, but as I say against a poor side.

We looked OK in mid

Farke said after the game we are looking for another midfielder.

Regarding Joffy agree not sure where he fits in, doesnt look athletic to me but apparently in training he is the best of all the strikers, might be that he needs a move to kickstart his career again.

He’s got so much talent. He’s a great footballer and looks like he’s got great work ethic and likeable.

He’s probably just been born at the wrong time though.

Hard to see where he fits without detriment to the system in modern football. Especially in a 4-2-3-1/4-3-3.

Up top with in 4-4-2 makes perfect sense but who does that anymore?

Would love it to work out for him but it feels u likely.

Bet he’s 1st pick at 6 a side

I had written Joffy off but he has been the most impressive player over the two pre-season games.

Hannover game was an absolute doddle. Hard to gage where a 6th place 2nd tier German side would rate against our leagues but as already mentioned it was a friendly.

"LUFC Germany can tell us what standard Hannover are at."

heart, normally Hannover are a decent side, but German experts writing about the game gave a big reason as to what their problem was!..

Its said the two most watched leagues worldwide are the English Premiership and the English Championship, and they've said that the Hannover squad costs 1 third of what the Leeds squad costs!..

They said that our players were far to good, and me being a season ticket holder by Vfl Osnabrück, I've seen a lot of the 2 liga and 3 liga to know there are some good teams in there, but there'll not be many if any players earning what ours do!..

Leeds lost at Wembley to miss out on the Premiership, and Osnabrück finished last in 2 liga and start this season in the 3rd, Osnabrück are known as the YoYo club here, because nobody has gone from the 3rd div to the 2nd and back as many times as them!.

I know you asked about Hannover, but Hannover beat Osna 7v0 at their's and in Osna everybody were expecting them to do it again, but Osna won that game 1v0!..
