Australia Vs New Zealand

For the life of me I can't work out how bookies drive around in BMW's when they are offering odd's of New-Zealand $3.65 & Australia @ $1.30.

I think this game is 50/50 and going right down to the wire.
I'm concerned about our (Aust) backline with out of form Tonga and a reluctant Lawrence returning from injury.
Then there is the Lockyer factor as well, how long into the game will it be before his jaw gets a knock and he feels more confident that it is o.k.

I for one am going to take N-Z at those juicy odd's all up Australia in the union for what should be a good return for every $ out-layed...perhaps 5 or 6/1...not that I am a big punter or anything....just $10.00 for an interest sake watching the league at 4.00p.m and then the union at 7.00p.m all makes for a good evening considering it is the end of season and a build up for the 4 nations.

Cheers

Souths.Totally agree with you,new zealand always seem to be a more than fair price,as they are everytime they play aussie. If I had to have my life on one it would be aussie, but for value new zealand everytime.!

Souths while I agree with you that anything can happen on the day....
The bookies aren't the only ones.

Pressed enter before I'd finished dammit.
Anyways, what I was gonna say was that the Kiwis often seem to get themselves up for a clash with your lot, especially when there's silverware at stake. But if you look at the squads on paper, the Aussies are stronger throughout almost every position - hence the bookies' prices.

The bookies price is always governed by the weight of money as we know, this is also why in OZ the Aussie's are short priced because every second man is putting a coin or two on them out of loyalty more then anything.....when it comes to money in the pocket I go for value over loyalty and besides if you lose your bet you are still happy your team won, so it's a win win situation....

Off-subject.

When Australia has a real good horse running in a big race in England I ring my daughter (lives in London) and get her to put a bet on because over there for example it might be paying 8 pound - 8/1 where here in OZ the same bloody horse will be paying $1.40 it's a no brainer placing a bet here......

well mate thats the reason why the bookies make millions, the 2 favs won pretty easily

Yes......they got my $10.00 to go towards petrol for the BMW.......I'll get it back on the 4-Nations.

Did you see the high shot to Lockyer's jaw....with more then enough time to pull out of the tackle I feel it's at least 3-4 weeks on the side lines.....grub

Certainly looked like a deliberate shot to his jaw Souths. Would expect him to be banned for the 4 nations after that.

1....week suspension is all Packer got, one lousy week, it goes to show the rep. players are under a different code of conduct to the rest of the NRL players.......a pathetic decision for an attempted high shot with an elbow that certainly didn't miss.
