A fantastic read and sure to create debate.

I would also like to thank many of the Derby posters for the way they have conducted themselves over this terrible time. I always thought you lot had some good posters and this has proved it. Thanks lads
A must Read

Very good read. I have always been of the opinion that managers should be given time. BD was very different, he manipulated his exit from the club as he couldn't keep his mouth shut (IMO). Cotterill, whether you think he is good or not, is not going anywhere, so we need to get behind him and the team. A new manager at this time of the season would not be expected to avoid relegation, as it is too much to ask. But SC is expected to, so he's the best man at this moment in time. If he is not the man to keep us up this year, it doesn't mean he is not the man to get us out of L1 next year. Hopefully most fans see the situation in the same way and just get behind the team.

Really? I agree mostly but think the only reason to change a manager would be for someone who'd give you a better chance of avoiding relegation. Why do it otherwise?

Yes but a new manager at this time would have no opportunity to change anything. Therefore it wouldn’t be his fault if he didn’t avoid relegation. So he has nothing to lose. Whereas SC, at the time he was appointed, should avoid relegation. So his reputations is at stake and therefore has more at risk than a new manager.

It seems as though you are in a similiar position as we, Derby, were when Paul Jewel left, most likely a lot higher wage bill but parachute payments to compensate.
Frustrating times ahead if you are following the same route as us but your timing is a lot better to do this with FFP next year
We were doing that 3 seasons ago and it felt like a handicap as no other teams were
