Following on from Fergie's comments that United would have reached the CL final 'IF' they had qualified from the group stages, I wonder what else could have been achieved 'if'...

I'll start.

I could have walked on the moon IF I was part of the NASA Apollo program during the 1960's, and IF I understood spaceflight.

I could have won the 1934 World Cup IF I was Italian, IF I was born prior to 1917, and IF I was any good at football!

What helped Fergie was the removal of the back pass rule.

I don't know if a 50 % win lose ratio in CL finals really counts as falling flat on your face, as a wild stab in the dark I would guess it would be the average if you included every manager to reach a CL final.

If Cardiff beats LFC in the carling cup, the admins better just close the Liverpool board because the amount of filtering that will take place will destroy the site
