How often have we seen it?
A long limted overs tournament, where a teams starts off poorly. Needs to step it up to stay in the tournament and peaks at the right time to win.
A very similar situation to the CB Series in 2006-07 when England came from 5-0 in tests and nowhere in the CB Series to win the tournment.
India did something quite similar the year after in 2007-08
Pakistan in ODI WC 1992 and Australia in ODI WC 1999.
Pakistan did it in T20 WC 2009 and England in T20 WC in 2010.
It's all about peaking at the right time.
India must be favourites for the CB Series

favourites?! Sri Lanka are probably gonna beat Aussie next match!

Correct me if I am wrong but from table it seems that all lanka has to do is to avoid a 'big' defeat against Australia in the final preliminary game.Lanka and India have = points but Sri has better NRR or does it come down who has beaten the other side more rather than NRR when sides are equally matched in terms of points.

Jono,
Australia will do the professional job on SL but regret it later
PR, here are the rules for you:
In the event of teams finishing on equal points, the right to play in the final match or series will be determined as follows:
* The team with the most number of wins
* If still equal, the team with the most number of wins over the other team(s) who are equal on points and have the same number of wins
* If still equal, the team with the highest number of bonus points
* If still equal, the team with the highest net run rate

If India wins from here, this will be the most remarkable comeback ever since 99 WC.

Australia hasn't got anything substantial to rally them up for a victory when it doesn't matter win lose or draw they are in the final.
I've got no doubt they will go out against Sri-Lanka in an effort to win but when that extra bit is required for an extra run or a run out, I'm not sure they will be driven to get through the barrier it requires when it's for nothing.
Unles of course they would prefer to play India.....

India were very lucky to win the toss because had Sri-Lanka sent India into bat the bonus point would of been near impossible to get......very good toss to win....
