Personally I'd have given the job to Carsley if he wanted it. Maybe he didn't although he's more qualified for it than Southgate was when he got the job and yet I'm hearing things today like Carsley isn't qualified enough for it 🤔.

It looks like the FA have thrown continuity out the window which is a bit of a shame. If you do really well as England U21 manager which Carsley has then I think that's more than enough reason to be offered the England senior job.

Yes I saw what he said in that post match interview but he never definitively said he doesn't want it.

Carsley has said a few things since being made interim, some of it a bit contradictory tbf.

So according to Talksport Tuchel is only signing an 18 month contract and won't take charge for the upcoming England games in November. Carsley will still be manager for those games. Err what ??

I hope he gets a crack at it at some point. Although unless he goes into club management I'm not sure what else he can possibly do to prove to the FA that he's good enough for the job.

Maybe take the Ireland job seeing as he played for them. But if he does that then the English FA won't want him lol.
