A comment!!!!! YEEESSSSS...

Will you be watching the eurobasket in september then?

UK have an interesting group. Not easy on paper, but the rosters the teams will have seem very weak so i think if they keep the games tight they could knick a win or two

Another Madrid fan here. Both peks and I are Spanish - he lives in the UK though, I'm over in Spain.

Basketball's the 2nd most popular team sport here, so yes, you don't even need to have a particularly strong interest to be more or less familiar with the Euroleague and all of Europe's top teams.

I used to follow a lot more back in the 80s & 90s. Still think it's a great game, but nowadays work & family life barely leave me enough time for a bit of footy (my first passion). The fact Barça have been schooling us pretty much ever since hasn't helped either.

Even so, I do try to follow from a distance and try to tune in from time to time to a big game. It really does my nerves though!

Spanoulis should be Spanish with a surname like that. Then I wouldn't mind him hitting 9m buckets.

GB look as good as out to me

Spain have battered a few teams by embarrasing scorelines tbh

italy look like there on the way back after a spell in the doldrums

surprises (for me)

how poor russia have been
how good finland have been

France seem to have struggled early on, but I imagine they'll come into their own as soon as the k.o. rounds start.

Im Greek.

And YES, what a great win for us yesterday against you.

Although, Please can you answer one question for me?
How are Printezis and Sloukas in the national team???

I mean genuinely. Sloukas in probably only there cause Diamantidis has retired from internationals, Mantzaris is injured and Kalathes "couldnt hear my phone" and then "i lost my phone". Fine.

But Printezis? He offers NOTHING to the team. He has no 3. no mid range, cant hit over 50% free throws. Mavrokefalidis is a better rebounder. He is slow. And not a good defender. What else is there? Its no concidence yesterday spain were +10 and +8 when he was on the floor, and -7 and -4 when he went off.

Win against Slovenia and Croatia, and we are through. Easy (yeah right)

On a separate note, who do you fancy for final4 in euroleague this year?

Its very close.

Real are similar to last year.
Barca have strengthened with Papanikolaou.
CSKA with Hines and Pargo are stronger.
Fenerbahce have the obradovic factor.
Panathinaikos have kept lasme, diamantidis and maciulis and added Pappa, Giankovits and fotsis, as well as mavrokefalidis to replace tsartsaris, and the experience of Batiste.

Olympiakos are the only team that look weaker. Losing Hines, Papanikolaou and Antic will hurt them.
