I have never been to Accrington before, but I will be there Saturday to cheer the Brewers on.
Do they have a bar at the away end ?
Accrington 1 - 2 Brewers
After that on Tuesday we will be a spent force.Accy 3 Brewers 1.
With hopefully the rested players to come back in and dare I say it Symes to start. Not because Howe has played badly but Symes seems up for it at the moment.
I'm going for a scrappy 2-1 win.
Yes, there is a bar JFW.
Only time will tell Emnez but we played Fulham on Tuesday (120 minutes) and they played Cardiff on Wednesday (90 minutes). Weir, Bell and Howe went off early, Delap and McGurk didn't play. I am confident we will be fine.
Yes i too would like to see Symes start against one of his old clubs ! , he looked very focussed ,strong ,and mobile . i dont think playing mid-week will be a problem with Delap and McGurk back in and several players Bell ,Weir , Howe , only playing for an hour or so . My concern is law of averages Accrington have lost their last two home games without scoring so something may give , but i just feel we will be too strong although i expect us to leave it late winning by the odd goal in five ,Accrington 2-3 Brewers
Accrington 0 - 2 Brewers
The way the back 5 are playing they are due an away league clean sheet !
I think we may be a little tired after our midweek spectacular! Think Accy are fighting for everything at the moment and we could struggle. I know Symes has done well the last couple of games he's come on, but we seriously need Billy back as soon as possible.
Accy 2 - 0 Brewers
Can't remember the last time I put us down for a loss, but would be overjoyed if we got anything!
Although we defended magnificiently against Fulham, we need to tighten up at the back. Added to that there will be some residual tiredness from Tuesday and doubts over the fitness of McGurk and Delap. For those reasons I'm going for:-
Accy 2 Brewers 2
The team will no doubt be tired but hopefully feeling positive after Tuesday's performance and I think there'll be plenty of goals.
Accrington 2 - 3 Brewers
Accrington are in need of some points and I think they'll probably get one off us 1-1 for me
don't think our defence will be able to stop them from scoring at least one I am going for 2-1 albion
My records show three wins on match day 5. 3-2 at home to Northampton, when we were 3 up after 10 minutes. 3-0 at home to Hereford in 2010 and 1-0 at Rochdale with a spectacular winner from Matt Paterson, if memory serves.
The only reverse was a 2-1 defeat at Accrington two years ago, and I've got a funny feeling the same will happen tomorrow, so that's my prediction. 2-1 to Accrington.
Like most forecasters, I think that we will be a little jaded but I still think our class will pull us through - but only just. I will go for 1.0 with Hussey scoring again.
There is a chance I may not be around for the Oxford game so I will do an early prediction of 2.0 to the Brewers in front of 2654 with Howe and Palmer scoring.
After the Fulham match I have no doubts whatsoever, that we have a squad of players who on the day can beat any team in the land. That said there will be a lot of sore legs still and as we all know Accrington are a hard side to beat. I'm therefore going to predict a 2-2 draw, but will be overjoyed if we win.
Not been able to get my forecast in prior to kick off for various reasons. Would have gone for 1-1 with Rene Howe scoring.
