In terms of ability Lovren isnt much of an upgrade on Skrtel but could still grow as a player.
If he doesnt make stupid decisions like Skrtel, he's already a massive upgrade though
I think it's around £18m for Moreno as well, but perhaps we should try £22m + Aspas.

So you want to give them more money even though we might have agreed 17/18M and also give them Aspas?
We gonna have to pay someone to take Aspas off us though...
Either my joke was really bad, or Kash is a bit slow today.
Latest (totally unfounded and probably bo//ox) rumour is that Caulker has been spotted atSouthampton's training ground. Patching the way for Lovren to come to us.
whats the story with Lallana, have we pulle dout of the deal cause they want 30 million?
Knee.
I'm still really confident Lallana will sign. Once a player makes it clear he wants out it's very difficult to keep hold of him.
I think we will stick to £25m and now leave it to Lallana and Southampton to argue over it.
Personally we should be hopefully looking at other targets.
yeah I saw on the BBC he's said he wants to leave, 25 million is too much but if that's what we pay I don't mind, can't see us paying anything over that, there's other options out there for a similar price
The financial climate has changed this summer thanks to the bumper TV deal. Everyone's got more money so the prices are going up. £30m is steep but if it gets the deal done then we should just pay it.
I think Lallana will sign.
There is no mad rush it's only early June and most other options will be at the World Cup too.
These things take time.
Lallana (or players like him) are not the main priority IMO.
Don't really care if we get Lallana or not - although I do think he is good - his position isn't a huge priority IMO.
As long as we get at least a CB, a LB (maybe a RB as well) and a Lucas upgrade, I'm happy enough.
The players we have are young and improving all the time. They should all be even better next season hopefully.
lovren misplaced the 2nd highest amount of passes inside his own half last season, excellent
He didn't make many errors leading to goals though, only 1 I think.
Plus you can never really judge on stats for another team anyway.
Lovren is a defender, passing stats shouldn't be what he's judged on. He was excellent last season, one of the best defenders in the league and that's what we need.
No doubt helped having 2 decent fullbacks and 2 dms.
No better than skrtel imo
can we afford loads of lose passes in our highly attacking system? not for me.
Lovren's just the type of defender we've missed since Carra retired. Definite upgrade on Skrtel.
I haven't seen enough of Lovren to know either way but its amazing that with all these supposedly good players Saints could only manage a distant 8th under a supposedly good manager, with no cup runs to speak of.
Something doesn't add up somewhere. Either many of players are not as good as people make them out to be, or Pochettino isn't.

Exactly and hopefully we can sign players who can help each other. Lovren would be a good step in my opinion.

Only eighth? Southampton have done very well to jump up to eighth from where they were only a few seasons ago(League One). In no small part to the players they have. The seven teams above them are all well established Premier League teams, who have all made the Champions League in the past three or four seasons.
I think you're giving a discredit to Southampton and their players.
Liverpool were only eighth, the season before last with much of the same players we have now.
It's no coincidence that half their team are being targeted by the teams above them.
