Same. I like him and he’s getting better. Can’t see why Real would let him go though, they’re not short of cash and Mbappe doesn’t play right and neither does Endrick??

But as a Salah ‘replacement’ we could do a lot worse.

Mbappe has a huge signing on fee and then big wages. Plus they are still paying for stadium and they do see Endrick as the next big thing. There will be a number of clubs after Rodrygo and we will probably have to sell Gakpo.

Rodrigo would be an excellent addition if possible, but defence and midfield should be the priorities.

I for one can't wait till we have our first legitimately South Asian player in the first team, even if he's fully Brazillian

Interesting. I guess if Endrick really is the new shining star then a front 3 of Mbappe, Endrick and Vinicius, with Bellingham as the breaking midfielder or a false 9, it doesn't leave a lot of room Rodrygo.

For some reason, it doesn't feel like a very 'us' signing though. We sign players from Roma, Southampton, Benfica, Porto, Hoffeheim, RBL, Wolves, Brighton.

Would be very happy if we did though, a player for both the present and the future.

A LCB, DCM and RWF all of first team quality would be an excellent summer.

we ain't stacked in defence. we need another. VVD is getting on and Konate isnt always fit. leaves you with Quansah and Gomez and Gomez is more of a fullback if you ask me

Yeah we need another CB for sure given Matip is most likely leaving and Konate can't be relied on for 38 games.

Quansah looks the business but ideally we need someone else who's a bit more experienced.

You're replacing Matip then I guess, which makes sense. I assume he will leave this summer

Depends on the new manager really.

If he wants a flat back four then Tsimikas probably stays for example.

If he wants Trent in actual midfield we’ll not really NEED a new CM but would need a RB possibly

Etc, etc.

The squad is strong though regardless, so I’m of the opinion that if quality players such as Rodrygo become available, we should go for them.

Sad for Matip. but he wont even be available until at least October and then hes got to match fit and he'll be 33 by then i think. so its sad his career ended like it did. But you need to move on. hes been a very good player for us. Hopefully he will get a decent chance to play at a big club when he leaves.

The emergence of Bradley has been immense for us, but I feel we need another CB.

Bradley TAA for RB
Robbo Tsimi for LB
VVD, Konate, Quansah and New CB
Gomez to cover all those and he's even playing midfield these days.

Midfield needs another player that can play the Endo/Fabinho role IMO.

In attack we have Salah, Diaz, Nunez, Gakpo and Jota which is good enough for me.

If we sign Rodrigo, it would probably be Jota that would be sold in my universe. Excellent player, but I've given up on him because of his fitness record.

Matip, Thiago and Adrian all to leave.

Kelleher, Tsimikas and Gakpo maybe too.

Until we know who the new manager is then I think it's very difficult to know who/what we need.

For example, if Xabi comes in and plays 3 CBs and WBs then we probably are a CB short and I'd question whether Tsimi is good enough for WB cover.

But even then the new boss might not adopt previous team structures and styles but adapt to the current squad.

You can't really blame Jota for at least 2 of his injuries they were caused by the opponents.
You have to stick by him. Hopefully he will be able to play without being taken out for a while now.
If anyone was to leave. I could see Diaz going. But not for another season.

Bobby Clarke looks like he can play and anyone, even though too young atm, looks to me like he could be quite special.

You'd not get away with 2 midfielders in the PL. when we play. The likes of Szoboszlai and Elliot do a lot of work in a 3..
