Football is a multi-billion pound business. It's difficult to ignore the financial aspect of the game...especially as a fan and especially as one that buys into the sport or club.
We managed to get Suarez & Coutinho, in recent memory, to sign new contracts just before we sold them. I would assume the club is trying the same with Trent.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Suarez left 11 years ago, Coutinho 6 years. Not really recent, is it? I’m surprised to see you using that as a marker.

I'll be a bit disappointed if Trent left on a free tbh
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Will just be the same to me if he left for £100m. The club are loaded and can absorb £100m. My issue would simply be him leaving and finding a replacement.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nothing against him but Bradley is a massive drop off from Trent. I don’t watch every league in world football like some seem to, but are there many players around similar to Trent? Very doubtful, which is why RM are so keen on him (if they are). Personally, I’d offer him parity with Salah, or even more as he’s got longer left in his career.

Yeah he would be impossible to replace like for like. It would likely require a change to the set up with Bradley coming in and a midfielder who can split defences and switch the play.
The club should do everything within their power to keep him but I doubt they will.

In a few minutes Term will be lecturing people on how they should post to others again.
I don’t think they will Term. I don’t think they will break the wage structure to keep him, I don’t think they will offer him more than Salah. Hilarious.
I really liked Bradley wen I have seen him look losing Trent, if it happened would be a sore one and perhaps necessitate a different style of play but Bradley is probs a better defender in a traditional RB position but certainly not a better player overall, didn't think Trent would leave but RM have a knack for turning players heads so you never know?

I think they’ll at least offer him parity. I’m just laughing at how dismissive it comes across that you think the club won’t do what they can to keep him. No big deal.
We know with Salah and VVD there has been no offer or discussion. Going by what they have both said. If that is the same situation with Trent cos we know he will want 300k a week minimum then we are well and truly ran by Muppets. You don't let a generational talent like Trent leave without a fight.

With regards Salah and VVD any reports regarding no talks were at the end of the transfer window. Joyce said on the 3rd that talks are expected to start. I don’t think we’ve seen anything since then, so you’re using obsolete quotes to push your agenda.
With regards to Trent, all we’ve had is a few sarcastic comments, nothing else. So we have no idea what’s actually going on.
For all we know the club may have spoken to Salah since his public statement after the United game. And with VVD we have no clue what's going on.

We don't know that at all in relation to VVD. We only know at the time of VVDs comments, there was no change for him to report as that's literally what he said.
We do know of course that nobody had spoken to Salah yet about a knew contract as of three weeks ago but we don't know if that has since changed and talks have opened up.
If we went with newspaper headlines rather than what people actually said then you could say we know that and everything else of course, only for it to turn out to be incorrect the majority of the time.

I'd say the problem is more what people consider facts is the problem.
Like when the media says 'No contract talks for VVD' when in actual fact he said "I'm very calm. I want to play the best season I can again. I want to be important and stay important for the club this year. Whatever happens next year, we will see. Everything happens for a reason is how I see it and for now there have been no changes in my situation, but I am very calm about it and there's no reason for me to start thinking of something else because I have a whole season to play for still and hopefully it will be a successful one."
So no changes to his situation, not no contract talks.
Stupid people's facts are not the same as actual facts. That's the social media generation for you who get their information from there.
Say what you want but to have 3 players out of contract June 2025 and we are about to hit October is pretty unprecedented. Are there many examples of the players signing a new deal when left so late?
