How can anyone seriously state that Lebron is in MJ's class?
--

Probably too young to know what they're talking about.

For starters, it is all about the moolah.

Lebron will resign for Miami.

He is no Olajuwon

Yes they are.

On top of that Spurs are the one of the greatest all time teams and Timmy greatest all time PF. What a series

Hard to argue that he isn't.

Stupid to argue that he is better though.

It is very easy to argue.

Look at what he has failed to achieve as part of a team.

How many mvps? How many rings?

Jordan was great individually and as part of a team.

Lebron is great individually.

Well you have to watch some of the seasons he had with Cleveland and early Heat seasons. To claim that LeBron is only great individually is laughable to say the least, one of his biggest flaws is his selflessness whereas MJ was far more selfish.

Even this series, look at the numbers LBJ was throwing up, he should have looked to be more of a ball hog ala Kobe/MJ/Arenas etc in the past. That being said, I doubt few teams could have beat this current Spurs squad because the chemistry is unreal, only weak link in the squad offensively is now unfortunately Timmy and in the finals Parker. Yet Parker has never performed vs Heat.

Edin, no offence intended - I actually wish I was a decade or so younger - but did you get to watch much of MJ when he was at the top of his game?

MJ was no Olajuwon for sure. Neither is Le Bron!

I watched Hakeem live many a time in the 90s and no Bballer made me get off my seat as much as Hakeem - including MJ.

Not live at all IOAG, and no offence received. Yet I have watched probably 15~16 of his full playoff games at least.

Greatest of all time player, but pretty selfish cos he could be. I think him and LBJ can be compared though, they are in a bracket of the top all time players. As much as it pains me to say, they are both in a band above Timmy.

Blessed to have seen many M.J games. But when he retired my interest waned.
I know MJ will always be regarded a phenomenon. A True Great. But having not seen much in the last decade, I can't say. I know Kobe.Shaq.and now James are held in the same regard as Jordan.
But the era I watched had, Hall of Famers all over the place.
Mail Man Malone. Stockton. Hakeem.Ewing. Barkley.Pippin.Miller.Shaq.Isiah Thomas. Rodman....
But M.J soared through the air as King of them all.

Edin, fair enough mate. Maybe I just have too strong a dislike for LBJ and, in general, over-muscled sportspeople. I sympathise more with the ones that do recreational drugs.

RC, The Dream was a personal favourite too. The footwork on that man. But perhaps you are also guilty of a certain degree of mancrush.

Stringer, if I may ask, why no Magic in that list, no love for him?

Far as my own all-time faves go, I'd have to head the list with Magic. Hakeem & Isaiah would be in there somewhere. Malone by the time I got to watch him was still classy but, pardon my lack of respect, old and fattish.

For some reason, Jordan's inability to keep his tongue in his mouth irritated me no end. I found him totally loathesome, as I did Pippen. Rodman was a laugh though.

Oh hey ItsOnly... You totally right, about Magic.
For sure, a bit before my time, but fully aware of his status along with Bird.
The classic rivalry they had is probably the greatest.
I was just throwing out names of guys I had seen in live games. To me those guys were amazing in their own right.
But for me, Jordan was just sensational.
Plus me and him share the same birthday.

Mine's shared with Thierry Henry and Bobby de Niro.

Jordan was immense, but Magic imo was the ultimate example of a guy making those around him better.

I must say James going back to Cleveland was a slight surprise to me - not having had access to the tsunami of news reports stateside.

From a career legacy point of view, it is a massive step back. No question about that. However, from an off-the-field point of view, i can see the business sense in it!

Interesting.
