£200k is still an enourmous amount of money which ever way you slice it. Employers NI is 12% ffs.

Hmm.. Do footballers use a regular paye scheme like the rest of us? They probably do but they also probably get a certain perecentage of their wages paid into little Ltd companies they all seem to have set up for them nowadays.

Is Welbeck a United fan favourite?

Other than a handful of people on here (including me), everyone else seem to be happy he's gone.

Yes it is a huge amount of money. However, the OP's figure for point 1 is 9m out.

Don't know why anyone cares about money anyway. It's about footballers and Ozil and Falcao are very good footballers. The rest is moot.

OP,
With all due respect to Zenit, Garay would have walked into any team after his display at the World Cup. I'm still gobsmacked, considering the shortage of decent CBs in the market.

It is probably out by more than that. People seem to be calculating his wages on 52 weeks, a full year, but we have him on loan until the end of the season. I make it 37 weeks (with the season finishing in May)

Liverpool buying Balotelli is actually the highest profile deal in their history so it should be number 1

"Widely regarded as one of finest wingers of a generation?"

Too bad he's only ever been great for both Benfica & Madrid when he was moved to central midfield.

Why is ADM figure so shocking

Top assister in CL winning team

Man of match in CL final

Widely regarded as one of finest wingers of a generation?

Who the shock?

Torres cost $50m and he was past it then
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Ozil (regardless how is playing now) cost £43M. He was (is?) the best No 10 in the world. If you look at this amount and compare ADM is well over priced.

You see Sanchez for £35M and Suarez (regardless of his attitude) was only £10M more and is a far better player......

----------------------------------------------------------------------
But Di Maria is clearly a better player than Ozil

posted on 3/9/14

I'm not sure Ozil is clearly a better player at all. Ozil has real quality. They both do. Not sure why Ozil gets so much grief tbh.

posted on 3/9/14

Both different players. All I know is Busbybabes and 90% of the mon'gs who are on Ozil's case would've chosen the German 2 years ago.

In fact, I remember all the Mancs on this forum changing their name to Ozil a few years ago.

1 might work, might not
2 crap player, glad to be rid of him. Bit annoyed he went to a premier league team though
3 'great' is subjective, and I don't think too many people anyway thought that
4 weird one really, he is such a born loser. He has been in one club where he was surrounded by crap and couldn't really motivate himself or his team when it mattered. Moved to a big club, with much better players, and spent his time regretting it. Now he has moved again to a another big club with better players. But I can still see him spending a lot of time on the bench. Chelsea already had better players and, if loses his limited motivation again, he will fade away like the shoot through he undoubtedly is. MUFC dodged a poorly aimed bullet.
5 so so
6 agreed
7 Inevitable really and good riddance
8 MUFC should have kept him, useful tool in the squads armoury. Left the club with zero strikers. Really not very sensible
9 may well turn out to be a great signing
10 this does worry me, he is a bit of a risk (price is irrelevant) and MUFC did not really need another 'luxury' player to carry around. More backbone is required.

I had to keep scrolling up to see who the players were.

was Ben Arfa to Hul that shocking? got some talent but not as much as he likes to think, plus in terms of attitude he's meant to be a complete nightmare. don't think Newcatsle fans are to sad to see the back of him tbh!

I'd certainly see someone about that Alzheimers condition as i am certain most United fans did not do that.
