An old film.
I haven’t seen it since I was a kid, but I remember that ending. 😞

I haven’t seen Chinatown in a long ti e, remember it being good, but don’t recall the ending being brutal. Need to rewatch

The Commitments maybe more bitterwseet.

Actually there's a related them of films where the actor giving the final line is genuinely struggling to/unable to contain their emotion because it's the end of that chapter in their life. The Commitments is one, you can hear his voice breaking (and it's not an emotional line really). Gone With the Wind I think another where Vivien Leigh's in tears. I think maybe E.T. where Drew Barrymore's tears I'm sure are real when E.T. 'dies' and probably Henry Thomas's at the end. I should have made a note of these because there are a couple more, I'll try to remember.

One of the saddest endings ever....

I used to like a Jon Voight TV movie. Think his daughter might have been in it and think it was called Runaway Train. His character name was Manny. Wouldn't vouch for it as it was a long time ago before I got into movies properly.

I watched 'Catch me if you can' the other night and it was even better than when I originally watched it. A future Thurs theme could be movies which were even better after watching it the 2nd time.

Just going back to Tarantino I watched Hateful Eight years ago when it came out and hated it. Then recently I saw that the extended cut was available on Netflix in four parts like a TV series so decided to watch it and enjoyed it way more than the first time round.

I went in second time knowing that it was a very slow pace and that there is loads of dialogue. Something I didn't know on my first viewing, was expecting an action western. Which obviously this movies is definitely not.

I like slow pace moovies

Action seens often boar me

I think the trailer might have been a bit misleading as that's what I originally expected going into the movie on my first viewing

That’s a fair point. Not only that his 9 buddies get killed, one of them by a woman. His army gets defeated by a bunch of horse ponses arriving late in the day, and then ghosts.. tough one.

Shout out to darth vadar and the empire too, trying to restore order to the galaxy, only to be thwarted by terrorists and then killed by his own son. Bang out of order
