Could easily see Afobe and dicko leave a year from now.
Iorfa, batth potentially, depending on our season of course.
Quite an important season ahead I would say, honeymoon is over, we are a club trying to gain promotion but will Morgan back Kenny where it matters?
Iorfa and Afobe would definitely be off to the Premier League in a years time. Plus maybe Ikeme, Dicko, Batth, Hause.
We need goalkeeper cover, maybe left back cover, striker cover but mainly we need more quality in midfield. We won't get promotion with Henry and Edwards as first choice wide players. We need the club to be prepared to spend more, but we also need Kenny to make better choices than Leon, Saville and Rowe
I think everybody is in agreement that we need to invest in the team but will morgan give the funds he could very well have it all come crashing down again like a couple of seasons ago when is he going to learn if you want quality you have to pay quality wages these days, would he have spent the money if he had taken over L'pool you bet he would he is a Red through and through we are just a sideline that has become expensive for him
I dunno notty, I felt that this summer was going to give us a good idea of Morgans intentions and thus far it's a little uninspiring, though he/we still have time I guess.
If he comes up with funds before transfer deadline I will take it all back but I'm not convinced, I think he is looking to sell
Haven't you got it yet.....The days of us investing big in transfers are gone.......We have invested heavily in the acadamy and that's where our players will come from in the future.
Oh thats fair enough then, better to hope a youngster makes it this season rather than be pro active about it.
Won't be a problem losing several stars a year from now will it?
Morgan made some poor choices of manager between McCarthy and Jackett but I wouldn't be overly critical of him otherwise. We have spent more than most in the transfer market since he has been here and I think there are many worse chairmen around. It will be disappointing if we don't spend more this summer but let's hold the criticism until after the window has closed rather than before it has even warmed up.
Morgan is a scouser like me. Forget about him spending on your small club. One day he will come back home.
I wondered when you'd show up
Let's wait and see how good theses kids are. Eno and Ronan will definitely make the jump to first team. So there's 2 we don't have to bring in.
They may well do Perton, but it is very unlikely they will yet.
Eno and Ronan are only 17 and do not have a pro game to their name.
Particularly in Ronans case he is very slight of build at the moment as well.
I think it's very premature to start worrying about who will go if we don't go up. The transfer window has almost another month to run, but I personally don't see any new arrivals on the horizon.
Perton is right The days of us spending money has gone, unless we get promoted, then and only then will Morgan release the purse strings.
We have spent a lot of money on the Academy and trying to bring our youngsters on. That will take time and patience from all of us and given the fact that some are already breaking into the first team, it looks as though it could pay off.
I believe we will do well this season and the players are gaining a whole lot of experience and who says that one or two 17 year old players can't make the grade this season. Keane did it years ago, so who knows.
As for our younger players moving on....I think most will stay and if we don't make it this season and Afobe and Dicko leave, then I'm sure we'll get money for them to re-invest.
I'm not one who believes we have a divine right to a place in the top flight. We have to earn it and with the right guidance from our coaching staff, I'm sure we'll do well this season and I really don't think we will see any new faces before January. Let's get the best out of what we've got now.
If we don't bring in ANY new faces before January we may as well forget this season, and that is from someone who leans to the positive side.
And yes Keane did it years ago, about 20 years ago to be precise, how many have done it for us since? I think its zero.
We cannot be going into this season hoping a few kids are gonna come good, we have money, that has been demonstrated by the bids we have lost out on.
No probs having youngsters on the bench, but if we have to turn to them in key key positions with one injury we are doing something badly wrong.
Ain't gonna happen cinci.
We might be loosing Hause to Everton too.
Sheyi Ojo allegedly joining
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-starlet-sheyi-ojo-set-6183380
Ojo is by all accounts close to joining the Liverpool first team squad so would appear to be a good bet to do well in the Championship. May well be a better player than we could hope to sign outright
Actually scored their winner today in a friendly, along with Benteke.
Not a big fan of taking on other clubs players when we don't get to sign them, but this is where we are sadly.
Fantastic goal by Benteke. Good shot by Ojo but bad mistake by the keeper to let it in.
Worth hunting down West Ham v Liverpool U21s on YouTube to see what Ojo can do
i would quite literally wet myself if we get ojo
I think this is the vid DJ refers to
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NRc-cGao0U
Very highly regarded player, actually out of contract a year from now apparently, though sure LFC won't be letting him slip.
Is it a bit late to say we have been keeping an eye on ojo?
Thats for Gem
If top half Prem clubs want any of our youngsters or any of our players for that matter, they will get them whether we are in the Prem or not.
The will make us an offer we can't refuse or will contact the player or agent and entice him away.
We can't and won't be able to compete with the Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea's of this world whilst Morgan owns The Club and whilst we want to "balance the books".
The longer that we stay in the 2nd division means that not only will we be prey to top half Prem clubs, but we will also be prey to all Prem clubs and ambitious Championship clubs.
Money talks.
Money does talk and reports increasing that Everton would like to sign Hause. Maybe they would sign him and loan him back to us for a season
Our Hause in the middle of our street, our Hause...
