I'm gonna try to mix contemporary and traditional. I have this blurry vision of tortured genius. Horrible mistake?
Yeah probably. It's very, very hard to pull off.
Where I was working before, we did very high end contemporary furniture (mostly Italian) so had clients spending 20 odd k at a time some times (biggest single order was £55k ) - and even with budgets like that the contemporary/traditional mix is sooo hard to get right without it looking jumble sale.
I'm still gonna try. Well I say try, i'm doing a great job already given everything apart from my toaster was scrounged from friends and family
SITS is a good sofa brand by the way, very reasonable price and good quality. I have some at home.
Also, with furniture do not accept anything less than 25/30% of the retail price the margin is there and most companies will bite your hand off for it. Independents obvs. not Harveys, DFS etc...
Going to Lewisham to some second hand place now. So I should be haggling. Good to know
Ah right... obvs don't expect 25/30% on second hand stuff though
I dunno if i'll get anything. Second hand I should be fine with it but I'm not really. I've got a replacement toilet seat on order. Would some people keep the last one?
Not going to put it on the Haven but... Blarmy's comment about strikers - bit insensitive to Ade considering the Togo team bus incident
