Basketball rumours are way better than football rumours.

Its all "How do I trade this asset of value to get a return that suits my team and hopefully the team they are going to in a strict structure"

Football is just "me got lots money, me buy players good good"

Only if you get erections from business school topics

It’s a lot more structured for sure, Edin. But also very complicated to understand at times. At least with football it’s simple but of course money being fairly even across the board in NBA helps big time to keep your best players.

Bloody hell, post Russian propaganda on here now.

It isn't a bad video, tbh.

The overall level of the players themselves is obviously going to be considerably higher in the NBA, but European rules are definitely more restrictive and it makes sense that they force players to fine tune their attacking skills more.

It might even go some way to explaining why it seems that more and more Europeans are making the transition to the NBA successfully even without having played in the US college system.

Wemby went 1st as expected. The twins made top 5, amazing for them and their family. Hopefully this draft class can excel

Thoughts on all these trades?

Wemby is unbelievable. Needs to lay off injuries and we’re seeing a player who cannot be guarded on attack and can’t be gone thru on defensive side ffs

Wemby was so good last night

38+10 - did you watch? I read they blew a 27-point lead before finally winning it.

posted on 3/11/23

Yeah was a great game. The suns really came back well and the Spurs looked like deer in headlights until Wemby decided to step up, won two fouls (one a little lucky) and then that shake and pull-up 3 - then shortly followed up by the 2 from the elbow.

Went from a huge swing to the game being tied a momentum ending +10 for the spurs in seconds.

All this against one of the best and most suited defenders to his game, it was such a good performance

Haven’t been paying much attention to the NBA recently. What’s the best/biggest/funniest trades been?

Any early tips for the Championship?

Oscar can answer that as well so we can have a good old laugh at the end of the year.

Been a good offseason for the sport, there’s actually not enough teams in the league so all teams are stacked with good talent now.

Heat tried to get Dame for the longest time and then facked it, he went to Bucks for Jrue and a bunch of draft stuff (of which some went to suns). On paper the Dame/Giannis pick and roll game looks Shaq/Kobe levels of good but so far the defensive weaknesses have shone more.

Celtics got rid of the heartbeat of their team, their best creator (in an uncreative team) and the only player who definitely steps up his game for the playoffs in Smart for Porzingis (plus memphis got involved) who is always injured and a bit limited but a 7’3 shooting demon - thought it was a bad trade tbh. Then they lucked out into getting Jrue which is an absolutely awesome signing for them - though he is often poor in the playoffs. Very strong team but if they don’t win this year think they can’t manage the contracts they have.

Warriors swapped Poole (liability) for CP3 (perfect fit but as a starter was always injured in the playoffs).

Suns got Beal (absolutely love him) for CP3. Then stupidly traded Ayton for little.

Lakers and Mavs did some nice off season moves. 76ers had James Harden slandering their GM all off-season and refusing to train, they traded him for a lot of draft equity.

Then a bunch of other deals a free agent signings happened.

My favourites are in order:
Nuggets (just aweome)
Celtics (if they stay fit, big IF)
Bucks (need to trade for a defensive guard)
Warriors (little unpopular but if they stay fit then they will be awesome)
Suns (been unimpressed and Wemby murdered them)

Most people had the favs as those, minus warriors plus the lakers

Dallas any chance, Edin?

Ah man, Dame and Jimmy Buckets would have been grate. Beale to the Suns could be grate. Imagine having to defend him, Booker and KD (for about three games a season).

Nah they are too poor defensively and are currently doing great aided by the rookie Lively who will have an inevitable slump.

They seem much better but I can’t see them winning 3 playoff series let alone 4

Clippers are like that too (albeit with even more unreliable guys) I think a few teams have built their guards purely in the hope that they can hurt Denver
