My flight was originally meant to have a connection at Frankfurt, but I got moved to an earlier flight to Munich because of overbooking. But that flight was delayed and I missed the connection at Munich, then it’s been a mess because of the issues with Heathrow. Finally got on a flight now, at least.

At least as per EU regulations, iirc it's based on distance travelled and length of delay.
I imagine that if they sent you to Munich instead, they were also the carrier for your connecting flight?
I don't know what happens if you were put on an earlier flight, but even if the second leg was with a different company, I'm pretty certain that you're still entitled to automatic comp regardless for not being allowed to book your original flight.
Still, leaving you stranded for three days sounds like a huge mess. I hope they're paying your hotel, because the b'stards who bumped me off the outbound flight refused to put me up in Barcelona, even though I didn't get there until about 2am and had to wait till early morning for public transport to reopen.
