Leicester v Portsmouth

A great game, both sides went with a back three in an attempt to utilise their wingbacks, and it led to a very end to end game despite both sides being very strong defensively. Leicester had the edge but fell victim to a sucker punch from Kevin De Bruyne on the stroke of half time, his shot from 18 yards left Neuer watching as it flew into the top corner.

Leicester continued in the same vain in the second half, but Portsmouth remained dangerous, Werner and Lewandowski causing numerous issues, Walker getting behind the attacking Marcelo and his cross was headed in by Lewandowski to make it two nil!

Correa and Ronaldo were on the pitch now as Leicester were pushing to salvage something, and they got a lifeline with 25 minutes to go as Correa drilled a cross in, Ronaldo's effort was blocked but fell to Asensio who stroked it home and it was game on.

Leicester were all in at this point as Koke came on for Marcelo in a 3-3-4 formation, Portsmouth changed personnel but didn't really change shape to counter this, De Bruyne played in sub Ousmane Dembele on the break to kill the game off but Neuer was mighty off his line to smother the ball, and it was to cost Portsmouth as deep into injury time as Leicester got a corner.

Even Neuer came up for it, but after a spot of pinball in the Portsmouth area, the ball fell to unlikely hero Azpilicueta to prod home and earn Leicester a potentially vital point.

FT:
Leicester City 2-2 Portsmouth

Goalscorers;
De Bruyne 44 (Werner)
Lewandowski 57 (Walker)
Asensio 65 (Correa)
Azpilicueta 90+4 (Koke)

MOTM: De Bruyne (didn't deserve to only come away with a point for his performance)

Hull City v Chelsea

Hull were unapologetic in their attempts to hold title chasing Chelsea to a draw, not a lot to write home about for the first 70 minutes as Chelsea tried their best but the holy trinity upfront were constantly surrounded and outnumbered, and even when it allowed the likes of Draxler and Tolisso to have time on the ball, Ascacibar and Rakitic (who was keen to prove a point) would be there to close them down.

The changes came very late for Chelsea, with Bailey and Aouar coming on in the same positions as Mbappe and Draxler but finding the same issues, especially with Hull putting fresh legs in midfield.

With 5 minutes left Fan finally made a change in system, as Rashford joined the attack, the Chelsea fans cheered sarcastically as a change they felt was long overdue finally came, and the extra bodies in the box were to tell as almost immediately, Rashford ran at Pavard on the left hand edge of the area, Pavard's tired leg caught the heel of Rashford, and despite protests from the Hull players, a penalty was given.

Aguero and Neymar argued over who was going to take the spot kick, Aguero won the argument, and calmly sent Horn the wrong way to give Chelsea the points and give Hull a cruel loss.

FT:
Hull City 0-1 Chelsea
Aguero (pen) 89

MOTM: Kempf (Led his side's defence superbly)
