Id say selling the rights to Fox saved Xmen, in the forms of the cartoons and the films.

That was the catalyst for the massive surge towards Marvel films as far as I can remember.

Id argue it was the best thing they did and we are all reaping the rewards now.

The only animated comic shows that need to be watched:

1. The Batman Animated Series

7. The Incredible Hulk

First off, as I said, they facked up by selling the rights to Fox. As it turns out, that sale didn't even save them from going in the red like you claimed.

We talked about grammar for what? Two posts each? and that was some time back. No need to bring it up again. So how am I going on a tangent when replying about something which YOU brought up to counter my explanation as to how Marvel facked up X-Men.

I explained it was because they sold to Fox which was a mistake. You're entire premise then was that the sale could not have been a mistake because the sale saved Marvel. Well, that's seemingly not true, is it? Did you come up with the theory that the sale saved Marvel all by yourself or did you get it from somewhere? I'm just asking.

You asked me to explain how Marvel facked up X-Men and I was kind enough to do so. Now you explain to me how your theory that the sale of X-Men to Fox saved Marvel came about.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
but Marvel didnt do any films.

You can say they didnt do them any favours but selling them to Fox didnt mess it up, Fox messed it up.

Selling to fox made sense they had tremendous success with the cartoons.

you havent explained why it was a mistake however the films did very well, it helped.

Marvel had no means to make any films on ther own they lacked money and resources. they sold the rights out to many companies including fox.

these companies then put marvel back in the limelight with their films and Disney seen the opportunity and bought them.

Id argue companies like Sony and Fox saved X-men and Spiderman rather than ruin them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Again, I've explained to you why it was a mistake, in my opinion anyway. The X-Men storyline is all.iver the place. The X-Men department of Marvel is more like the DCU than the MCU.

If you look at Avengers, Marvel Studios had already made Iron Man and before selling to Disney. They had established the plan and even started phase 1 before selling to Disney.

So your wrong again, Marvel did do some films, and they were great, but they were reckless with the X-Men sale IMO, maybe they were desperate. Fox don't seem to understand the X-Men universe very well. Having success with cartoons couldn't have been the master plan, and the cartoons don't rake in billions very often.

Don't ask me to explain that again. That's 4 times now. I don't judge movies by how well they do, I judge them based on my own standard. So the sale to Fox was a mistake. Capische saan?

And I didn't say they ruined X-Men, I said they facked it up, but it's not ruined. I appreciate the movies and their effort to make them, just as I do DC, but that doesn't mean I can't see the deficiencies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Marvel had zero say in the storylines though, and throwing out a random claim like they should have had clauses inserted is exactly that a random claim with zero substance as to how possible that was at the time.

I still dont see how if your not involved in something at all then you are responsible for it?

Marvel had not made any films at the point of sale to Fox.

Fox had fantastic success with Xmen.

Saying the sale to Fox was a mistake is a complete seperate point.

Id argue that at this moment Xmen in fact all the marvel products are far more recognised and loved now than they ever was so the things that Marvel did worked.

Since selling the rights to Fox and other studios they have grown massively and prob surpassed anything anyone thought was possible. Id say it was a masterstroke rather than a mistake. Id say it has paid off massively for them and in turn for us.

It could be argued that had they not sold the rights we wouldnt have what we have right now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
OK.

In terms of animated movies, DC have dominated that category for a while. Anything on Batman tends to be very good.

I did not, but their popularity is based on the tv shows and movies in my opinion.

It's a bit like Transformers. They released the comic first and then the famous tv show.

The Tick - A decent watch but it failed to resonate.
Spawn - I've only seen the live action movie. Underrated.
The Maxx - Never seen it.
Aeon Flux - Never seen it.

maybe im wrong

The TMNT comics is the reason they created the show. Late 80s / early 90s turtles where everywhere. You couldn't escape them

Yeah the toys were made first then they used the comics and tv shows to sell them. Was the same with the Ninja Turtles. They based it off a comic, but changed it entirely to make it kid friendly to sell toys.
