Chelsea for me. Winning a trophy is hard.

As a Spurs fan, as much as I'd love to see us win a trophy, I wouldn't swap our seasons.

We won a trophy in 07/08, which got us absolutely nowhere in 08/09. It was the 09/10 season when we first qualified for the CL which got us on the map again, and each season since then we have been at least competing for that in the most part.

Plus, I am looking forward to us playing CL group games in our new stadium way more than if I had 3 labouring 2-1 wins with our subs and reserves in the Europa against the likes of Rubin Kazan or Viktoria Plzen.

It is undoubtedly better for Spurs as a club right now to get a CL spot over an FA cup.

Like it was for Chelsea in 2003 when they nearly went under

I certainly wouldn't swap seasons. Top 4 is a bigger achievement and more important.

I guess Conte would be much less likely to be facing the sac if he had finished potless, but 3rd

Chelsea, because they will get back into the top 4 and CL whereas I cant see Spurs winning a trophy.

Not true though. Even when they were in too 4 the rumours were there. It isn't performance related

A guess it is a bit like Mourinho's situation: wins 2 cups last year, 2nd place this year with an FA Cup final, and some fans still want him gone....hmm

Will they?

Yeah probably. Have you not noticed their pattern yet?

The answer to the OP is subjective:

If it's about posterity then it's Chelsea, however if it's because no one remembers who came 3rd in a league but remember who won the cup then it also means Spurs are equally as successful as Chelsea in the FA cup with 8 wins each.

As a PL season is double round robin over 38 games it is arguably a better measure of a teams performance.

For me as a Spurs fan, finishing among the elite after playing away from home all season and overcoming the much fabled "Wembley Hoodoo" is a good season, which I'm fairly happy with. are Chelsea fans happy with their season? As that's the only true measure. Football has to be about the journey as much as it is the achievement. Would I rather have our season at third than UTDS at second with their big spending and style of play? Yeah for sure, would Arsenal fans rather have our season than Chelsea's I would say "yes" based on them ousting their manager despite winning 3 out of 4 FA Cups, they want to be in the CL.

You have to be in the completion to win it, and making numbers up in a competition is generally considered a disappointment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’re not in it. You’re Ropey League Standard.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Weren't you the one who had a go at Pochettino, for not taking the FA cup seriously ?

You have cheek to mock Chelsea, who won CL once, and have qualified for CL more times than Spurs for this competition.

It wasn't that long ago when your team got knocked out of Europa league by a bunch Belgian farmers (embarrassing that), which by the way a competition Chelsea won as well.

FA Cup. All day long. only good thing about being in the champs league is the money. Its a horrible competition that is set up to help the largest clubs in Europe.

Great for our shareholders, but for me as an old school fan, I want to actually win something.

But that's just me i suppose. Grumpy old man.

This the game should be about winning.

Tbf you need to have experienced both sides to be able to really answer the question. Most of these Spurs fans don't. Not surprisingly, the ones who have like sandy prefer the cup win.
