Sad if true, horrible thing to go through.
As the years go on, sadly more of our iconic legends pass away. When i was young I could not imagine these people getting old.
Hope he pulls through.

Forever remembered for '67 but personally it'll be for 88-89.
Seen a couple of reports saying the rumours are not true, hope this is the case, the man is a true icon 💚
He’s been ill for quite some time and unfortunately time takes no prisoners. He’s 79 years old and has probably had a most wonderful life beyond the dreams of practically anyone.
When his time comes you only hope it is in peace and quiet in the comfort of his family.

Never saw him play but great memories of him as our manager - only he could have galvanised that squad for the centenary season.

Met him in Seville, just waltzed in around everyone like he was just a fan like anyone else.
Remarkable guy who lived out all of our dreams.

Celtic just released a statement on behalf of McNeil's family.
Said the rumours are untrue and deeply upsetting.

I think they said the rumours of him passing are untrue but I suspect something about his health has been leaked and someone made an assumption
