The Chief Football writer at The Standard is actually a Spurs fan, so I do pay attention to what he says!

Harsh on Emerson, especially when you see how many other defenders need selling - would leave the squad very short on numbers at the back to lose Emerson, specially cos he can cover the whole back 4

On the fence about Werner and Solomon and would keep Richarlison, but agree with the rest

With Emerson he is not a able deputy for Porro. He has proven it. The drop off is too much.

If we are playing three times a week next season we need better. I would be happier to keep Davies as a utility man instead.

Vic
Porro
Romero
Micky
Dragusin
Udogie
Sarr
Maddison
Bentancur
Son
BJ
Kulu

12 players we should keep.

On the fence with :

Richy, Biss, Davies, Solomon, Skipp(only because he is club trained).

That's a possible 17.

Bergvall, Devine, Phillips maybes.

So for me we need :

Back up Gk, Rb, Lb, Cm, Winger, Forward.

6 new players who provide proper competition for a proper challenge on all fronts.

Keeping Dragusin and BJ has got to be a priority based on performances this season. Been outstanding.

I would get rid of Royal and Davies as they've both been useless every time they've played.

Best time to sell both of them whilst their stock is still fairly high. I'm thinking long term.

Vic (new GK)
Porro (new RB)
Romero (Dragusin)
Udogie (new LB)
Sarr (Bergvall)
Bissouma (Bentancur)
Maddison (Eze)
Son (NEW STRIKER)
NEW WINGER (Richarlison)
Kulu (BJ)

Skipp, Davies, Royal can hang around.

I think we only really need one attacking player either winger or striker that's an expensive, nailed on starter. Eze would be somewhere in the middle I guess. Also wouldn't be against doing a deal for Bissouma if we get a good bid/have an obvious replacement. So inconsistent.

Missed one!

VdV (Kelly)

posted on 21/3/24

Kelly is always injured. Right now even. Is he even good enough? Surely we can do better.

I find it abit crazy Ange said we need another CB when we have a plethora of young CB's like Phillips, Dorrington and the 6ft 4 Ivan Drago kid.

posted on 21/3/24

I think between maybe Davies and one of the kids we should be alright be alright for the 4th and 5th CB spots?

Yeah I get ya. There's been a few comments lately about how the youth really needs to improve tho. Phillips has done alright in the Championship but we need him to be great at that level. Has Dorrington actually played men's football?

Yeah fair about Kelly I wouldn't be excited about it, just seems like something must be happening with him and most of the budget should go elsewhere

posted on 21/3/24

Sell GLC, Hobby, Reg, Rodon, Tanganga, Gil and maybe Spence(who is probably a better RB back up than Emerson plus he is HG).

Ndom's contract will just run down next season. No one is ever buying him.

I don't know hou much this lot raise but I reckon the budget will around £130m ish (operating profit) plus sales.

It's going to be the first summer in a while where we don't have to worry about being handicapped by turning a loan player like Porro or Kulu into perm.

Werner is an option but £15m is chump change compared to last summer when we folked out £60m on Porro and Kulu.

I would like to see the manager get the best out of the current players. It is a perfectly good squad as it is.

I dunno. Finding replacements for players that are definitely good enough isn't easy. We're on a pretty good run lately with transfers working out but we could sell Son, Sarr, and Romero and end up a Soldado, Ndombele and Sanchez.

Though I would agree that everyone not in Ange's first team could potentially be upgraded

I'd go further than that, and say that everybody including the first team (maybe except vdV) could be upgraded.
But unless we're about to go raiding the likes of Man City's first team, I completely agree with you. What's the point in replacing perfectly good players in the hope that the new ones might be a little bit better (and might be completely useless as seems to happen with a substantial proportion of high value transfers).

Free transfer raid? Feck off! What a tight cvnt Levy is. It just proves that it doesn't matter where we finish, he'll always look to go cheap. It's admirable but it has a ceiling.
