The temptation is always to cut the grass too short. Don't fall into this trap, set your mower on the medium setting and water regularly.

A good tip is to move the flag was each day. And holes with raised bunkers, put it in the sand.. another good one is to make the green rough as feck, that throws them right off.

Not technical guidance, I'm not qualified.
Stay friendly with the members, if they are not happy it can make your job miserable.
Take notes ar the greens committee meetings, stand your ground if you know you are right, otherwise follow what they want.
Don't fret about fairy rings.
Don't overfeed the grass.
Make the bunkers, what's the word to use, interesting, maybe deepen one or two, make one a little closer to the green etc.
Keep the course fair, you should be able to see the problems in advance, not when it's too late, no hidden ponds for example.
Get advice early if there is a grass problem, from the turf institute.
