UEFA.

The statement outlining the plans states: "1. If the situation allows, maximum efforts will be made to complete all competitions in the national leagues and European cups by 30 June 2020.

"2. There will be no exclusivity for the individual games: national leagues will be able to be played in the middle of the week, and matches in European cups during weekends.

"3. The dates of the qualifying rounds for the European cups in the 2020/21 season will be determined depending on the completion of individual national leagues."

Suspect we’ll get the fitbaw finished 1 way or the other. That’s 3 months away so hopefully enough time.

Some clubs wouldn't be able to field a team
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Why not?

If it's about them going out of business that happens at the best of times. Someone else would take their place as would normally happen
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Due to the amount of players being out of contract
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Players will need paying and will be available. They won't sit out of contract when clubs need players and they want a wage.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think that’s too simplistic a view.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yet it's realistic

Players will be available. Clubs (those who survive - and they mostly will in one form or another, or be replaced) will need players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Like I said, far too simplistic.

Just replace clubs?! So, how does that work to see the season out? Does a new club that comes in get the points of the club it replaces?!

I think you’re being overly dismissive of the possible issues.

Players didn’t want to play behind closed doors, despite other workers having to go do their jobs in potentially more dangerous environments. The unions aren’t going to roll over on this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You see it as over simplistic but whilst no football is being played ethere's a significant chance clubs will go bust.

It happens. We cope. It's nothing to do with simplicity; it's to do with getting on with what we have when we can actually get on with things. Nobody bar owners are going to rescue any club.

Then they are breaking their contracts.

I can't imagine any player having a contract that says they must play in front of a crowd particularly when all of them have behind closed door games throughout the season.

Union hasn't a leg to stand on.

I equally think they will not have a clause that says they need to play when they could catch something from anyone on the park(I know it's the same in my work)But I have no power compared to players
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Then we dump any notion of playing out the leagues and a decision made.

It takes about 40 people to stage a professional match. Players are probably the fittest people on the planet.

If they don't "go to work", don't pay them.

Pandering to the likes of Rooney ffs

That's great until companies maybe think, "Why the fook was I paying all these folk when a couple can work from home.
Not an option for me clearly, and we are "clueless" as to how many will take a dive
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Exactly the thoughts in our minds.

Ginger-the players will unite over this whilst there’s still an active threat. You’ve not given an answer as to how you replace clubs that cease to exist, because you know yourself the mechanism for doing so on such short notice doesn’t exist, and there’s no way a club can be replaced mid season, as they would be doing in this case.

You’re over simplifying a problem that won’t come to pass in any case. There is no easy solution. If the games can’t get played, they won’t be. They’re giving this situation as much time as possible to settle down and being as fluid with it as they can. But they won’t be turning to you for advice on this I think.

I imagine they've had some input from scientists that they will be in a position to at least play behind closed doors by then?
