It's buggy, beautiful and not for everyone from what I've heard
Will have performance issues on my first gen PS4 so not sure if I should wait

I’ve just had a quick scan of the reviews and they seem to be contingent upon how offended the reviewer is by the bugs.
I have seen at least three reviews, however, that have said something along the lines of “[possibly] the best game ever made”. Huge claim, obviously, but suggests that some people at least will love it.
It didn’t really sound like my cuppa tea from the outset, but I think I will pick up the next gen version when it comes out in a couple of months and hopefully the bugs will have been ironed out by then.
On a side note, the Polygon review has six (SIX) paragraphs on why the game is offensive to transgender people...I honestly believe this “woke” world is very quickly becoming one I do not want to live among...time to do a captain fantastic and go and live in the woods

Why are bugs in games the norm when they’re released now days? Especially after taking so long to make it.
I’ll definitely get it next year when the PS5 version comes out, no point playing a previous gen version of a game that has potential to look so good.
I saw a video of the gameplay in the car chase shooting from the back of the car and other than the guy playing being awful, it seemed a bit, well, dated. Although that was a very small segment and a very specific ‘rail shooter’ scene.
I’m very much looking forward to exploring the world on the ps5 version.
With a game that is meant to have a 175 hr playthrough i would take any early reviews with a pinch of salt. Will be sometime until a real consensus view of the game will be available. But given the company behind the game its pretty safe to say it will be at least a little epic.

That should iron out the bugs
The thing that is disappointing about the bugs on this, for me, is that they delayed the game three (I think it was three?) times in order to fully realise their vision/quality standards.
I would much rather a developer delay a game so that it can meet the standard, but once you do that - especially with a game with this much hype - you better hope the bugs are close to nil as the masses will expect perfection!
The only people that have it are the early reviewers etc , so I'd imagine after the day 1 patch most of the bugs would be gone for the 'normal' consumers anyway?
I just wish it came out on the PS5 at the same time, will have to try and avoid spoilers and not watch much gameplay until next year.

Highly unlikely.
I am going to buy it on the 10th as I've been waiting for this game for years. It's definitely going to be one of those games you return to play again given that you can customize your character and have a choice of 3 lifepaths which determine your game.
So with that all in mind I will probably buy it again at the same time I buy a PS5.

No, but I had heard the Deus games were good. I had looked at getting Mankind when that came out a few years ago but I think I got distracted by another game.
