Well done Spain last night. Didn't watch the game, not even highlights, only just read a few online comments, but I think I've seen enough to file my match report:

Well done Spain, finally starting to look like the team that won 2 Euros and a World Cup between 2008 and 2012.

It was a fully deserved victory over an opponent that came to play for penalties and try to con the ref. Shame on Scotland's softies diving all over the place and crying over nothing.

Game's gone, but for once VAR did its job properly and justice was done.

Barging the keeper on his line might not be a foul in the UK, but it definitely is across the entire European Union. When you do that from a (fractionally) offside position, it also means the player is actively impeding, so there's even more grounds for ruling the goal out.

If I were Scottish, I'd no doubt be mightily pizzed off, but blaming the officials is just misdirecting your anger. The only person to blame is the Scottish forward pushing the 'keeper for no valid reason.

Ah, also forgot to say Spain should've had a couple of penalties in the first half too. That Hickey geezer was hanging off Morata's shirt at every set piece. So pleased it was him who looked like he'd had a bout of cerebral palsy for our second.

Clearly a foul in the European Union, they should've thought twice before letting Mel Gibson play their national hero.
